Sure, as I stated he is a good fit from the few games we have seen him forward. But here is the problem, firstly he missed 6 games last year and 11 so far this year. So durability is questionable. And when he play’s permanent forward, teams lock in on him more. Can he be as effective? I hope so. But it’s yet to be determined.

I agree but Goodwins game plan for years has been dump it long, can you really see him changing it anytime soon? I can’t.

But they also play a game style where they don’t dump kick it long 60 times a game. So unless we change our game style as I’ve said multiple times we then need that key fwd. And I’ll be betting on Goodwin sticking to his same game plan for years to come.

Head hunt them. Surely they would know who they like as players, go after them and try and pry them loose. Carlton might let McKay go as Curnow does well as a lone forward. Allen might not want to do the rebuild and two early picks for him might entice west coast.

I disagree, it’s the biggest hole we have in our list. Goodwin wants Thai game style, this style relies on a big forward who can mark and compete. Tmac and BBB are done, JVR not there and don’t think the right sort of player, which leaves Petty who has shown two good games as a forward and could be the answer but he keeps spending multiple weeks on the sideline which leaves us with no one.

I don’t know but they won the next two with him.

Time to shelf the trying to get pick 1 etc, get gold coasts 4, and throw 4&5 at a key forward. McKay from Carlton, Allen from West coast are two of target. West coast would be happy with 1,4&5 going into the draft. And unless we change our game plan or truly believe that Petty will be the main focal point and his body won’t fail him then we need to head hunt a genuine forward.

I’m not going to read all 20 pages but in the sober light of morning all I will say is Don’t get beaten by that you know. And we did. We know we dump kick long with no thought. We know how forwards contend with 30 players constantly in the F50. We know our mids set up the same way at stoppages. We know we have half a forward line with no decent big forward who can make an impact. We know the game plan won’t change and we like last year went super into our shells after going behind early. We know we have the worst i50 conversion and have for years and We know Goodwin won’t change that. We know we don’t want Carlton to win tonight. We know Stafford should have been moved on last year. We know straight sets is a big possibility. We know we could be wasting Gawns best chance at a second flag.

At years end if we don’t move on from Stafford and /or Yze then nothing will change from the last few years.

Without doubt no case to answer.
