  1. Ouch. Killer start Dees
  2. The chances were there early, didn't get them. That's enough to cost you in a dry game. Even worse in the wet.
  3. Just wow. We're in trouble
  4. Need a couple of goals
  5. Get ball, go long and direct, make good decisions
  6. Even without Keith I can't see our forwards scoring
  7. Got a wind to contend with as well now.
  8. That was brutal Kozzie. Did everything but kick it
  9. Holding the ball much?
  10. Class shining through at both ends
  11. Just need to get on the board
  12. Gonna be a real territory game
  13. Brown needs to bin those
  14. I'm confident if we get that good start
  15. Rain helps us out yeah?
  16. We'll be slow cooking our way to the finals?
  17. Appreciate the honesty and having some other things to focus on is healthy.
  18. Sure, but it wouldn't satisfy the need..
  19. Good thread bit I don't think we quite need to read the riot act. May be just a 3 second video of David Neitz saying "Don't waste it" will do.
  20. I know what you meant Nev it’s all good. I looked at the heat maps and am not disputing any of that but I am wondering if a different look at the centre bounces could be worth it. Viney is not just slow with leg speed but reaction time, there’s a number of hard balls he’s not getting to at bounces and when he does he’s got no time on the ball and scruffs his kicks. Gotta be thinking a step ahead.
  21. Yes and no. Definitely drifted through the middle for most of his possessions but I reckon I saw him at about 3 centre bounces for the game. Would like to see a bit more of a run through there but that’s not for me to decide.
  22. Yeah fair point on AVB being able to influence in the air like Gus does. Keeping an eye on the ball and just halving the contest where he has to. I would question if he can run out games regularly at the moment but that can be improved. Something to think about at least. Gus’s kicking has always been a hard thing to nail down. I’ve always labelled him as a bit of a ‘confidence kicker’ in that when he’s up and running he runs through the middle and kicks well but then there’s the times he butchers it consistently. I’ve never thought there was a whole lot wrong mechanically with his foot skills. If nothing else it would just give us a different look at delivery into the 50. I don’t know what’s going to happen but it is starting to look a bit predictable through the middle.
  23. Thought I’d feel better today and while we at least escaped with 2 points it’s not good enough. It’s not the result it is the way we played. We need to be mentally, physically and systematically sharp as ever. It sounds harsh, I know we have been great this year but we’ve gotta stop looking in the past now. We’re in the big time now fighting it out near the top of the ladder and those other teams don’t care if we were good for the first 10 rounds, 5 % off and they will gladly take our spot. It’s dog eat dog. Delicate flowers will be trampled on and near enough won’t be good enough. That’s the cut throat nature of AFL footy. These things are hard to win and to be the last team standing you have to be special. More special than some darn good teams. Can they rise to the occasion, yes they can. They’ve proven they can, but as of right now there are no more bloopies to give. Sh** just got real.
