  1. We must wear it in Alice, it's a no brainer. Any inconveniences or personal taste issues are outweighed by the gesture itself.
  2. "We exist to play teams back into form" is surely a play on their famous slogan "We exist to win premierships" Love it.

The guy who started the Is Goodwin the right guy thread also said it with a heavy heart.
  6. Haha true that, I take back everything Sir Glenn.

At least it gives a chance for freedom of speech!

    Sure
  9. Firstly thank goodness for that out. Secondly, yeah probably, if they are still really battling fitness that is, if they're 95% they've probably gotta play.
  10. Archer's impact was way worse than Lyon's. Hope their fans lynch him as much as we did Lyon.

We should definitely read the riot act. Purely because it sounds cool.

Penalise them off field more. First offence a fine and from then on suspensions. Put money where mouth is, it is the only way.
  13. +1 For Thurs night football.

Maybe but blind hope still trumps MFCSS

Providing that teams other than Carlton don't overtake us, yes!
  16. I cannot get around the idea of Lyon being a rebuild coach. The guy walks into lists that are about to take off. Sure he may set good standards for the youngsters like Roos, I'm probably being harsh I just don't quite see it.

I was kind of hoping Carlton would win and then lose out for the rest of the season. I'd prefer the top 2 to stay close to our reach as long as possible. I'd take top 4 obviously but not ready to concede home advantage yet.

What is going on! Bizarro world!
  19. It's difficult to see anything other than experience in this role. If you go for unproven again but with the long term vision then you've got to find a way to sell it to the members that the last 2 seasons of pain they've endured was pretty much all for nothing.
  20. There is every chance that we just wanted to persist with our method and back our guys in. You do make a good point.
  21. I've made it clear that I don't like this jumper but if there is a time and a place to wear it, it's this one.
  22. 2010 - 2013 are some of the most misleading and bizarre years I've ever seen regarding the MFC list. So many in the media thought we had the makings of the next juggernaut. Then all of a sudden Junior and Bruce are moved on leaving us in a leadership hole, young talents Jurrah and Wonaeamirri disappear never to be seen again and young hot shot Scully bails for the cash, Trenners gets the feet from hell, Jack Watts doesn't progress at the rate that we would have liked, Trenners gets the feet from hell, the club drafts Lucas Cook and so on and so on. I do feel that Neeld had a bit more to work with than Noble when it comes to experience but what an absolute cluster this whole ordeal was. He wears the responsibility of guys like Moloney and Rivers leaving no doubt but what a trainwreck just waiting to happen. 2014 was definitely the true measure of the list as it stood at that point. The cupboards were bare and we were left with a group that had been put the ringer with several different gameplans and several different coaches in the previous 3 years. There were so many players on this list that were simply not up to it. The 2010-11 years of this club actually scare me when I think of them. I remember genuinely thinking our club was in good hands off field when we found out it wasn’t, well that was quite a shock. 186 brought that all to the boil.
  23. Definitely not implied by you Andy however there are certainly some out there who would still rather call the coach a nitwit, despite everything he's done for us. It's hard to explain the coaching decisions or non decisions, especially when there's big results up for grabs.
  24. I just want to clarify I'm not saying that Andy called the coach a nitwit! 🙂

Has Nick ever won any of these matches when he has a full on meltdown? Started in barnstorming fashion and then 0-40 (or 40-0 can’t remember) turning point and Novak knew he had the psychological edge from then on. His behaviour was so cringeworthy. The icing on the cake was getting annoyed with a woman in the crowd he thought was drunk who seemed to be a fan of his anyway. He has all the tools, players around the world would kill to have that serve. He absolutely needs a coach and a mentor to guide him and help him mature. As long as I can remember he’s never had a coach, you would know better than me Macca if he’s maybe had one here and there but very few players are Roger Federer and winning Grand Slams without one. I’ve wanted to like him and I’ve really wanted to see him succeed but he just isn’t the athlete we wanted him to be and it’s not what he wants to be. Good on him for making the final but it could have been so much more, so far a bit of a waste.
