  1. Backs firmly against the wall. One game at a time, we've really put ourselves in a pickle of a situation.
  2. I'm almost done with AFL broadcasts anyway. I didn't even watch last nights game. I dont know what JB said but it's probably not our place to say how he should feel or act in these situations.
  3. Way to ruin the weekend. All I've got left to make me happy is pouring the tin of new olive oil into the bottle.
  4. Yeah true. If he stood still he could have been bowled over.
  5. Laurie played a great game against the Sawns but now the villain and declared a spud after playing a final in his 5th game. Get a grip.
  6. They tried to intimidate us verbally and physically and you'd have to say it worked in their favour.
  7. I know you weren't, all good 🙂
  8. Appreciate it Dazzle. It seems as like the people here that want to condemn Maynard feel like they are a united front. Well in the last few hours I've realised that they are actually in sub-categories. There's people who think the main fault is Maynard's choice to jump and leave the ground and whatever happened was his fault anyway, there's people who feel it is his decision to turn inwards instead of outwards and then there's people who are saying it has nothing to do with either of those but actually him leading with the shoulder and causing a 'bumping' act. None of these are bad opinions but they are not on the same page. Oh sorry then there's the ludicrous Space lord stuff like suggesting that a if he's sprinting a hundred miles an hour at the ball carrier he should suddenly be able to jump straight up vertically in the air when he attempts the smother. Another one suggested Maynard took his eyes off the ball, it wasnt a marking contest, how the hell can you tell that when the guy he took out had the ball in his hands right up until the moment he left the ground?? I've been more than happy to hear sensible arguments for why he should go and thankfully there's been a few good ones here who were able to separate emotion and explain their stance rationally and respectfully. I'm not on some warpath to be correct, I'm here to say what I think, hear some well informed good views then move on. Whether people agree with me or not, no-one can argue that this place has been a frenzy of emotional and sometimes irrational jabbering this last 24 hrs. Having said all of this I'm not some Maynard homer and if they are handing out a 4 game suspension I'm happy to see him rubbed out regardless. Thug life!
  9. I called it a footy action gone wrong. Doesn't mean I think he shouldn't be responsible for his actions. I also never said he should get off scott free. While we're at it (and this isn't directed at you) I understand people feel for Gus and the family but can people pick their words a bit more carefully when referring to his condition and what he might be suffering from? Someone said that Gus suffers from anxiety as a result of his concussions. You do not need to get a concussion to suffer from severe anxiety, let me assure you of that. Please don't pretend that this is some condition that only occurs in freak accidents because it's insulting to people who live with it daily.
  10. Tell that to the people who want him to do an ACL or run him over with their cars..
  11. I would also prefer to see this sent to tribunal. Needs more judgement than a simple knee jerk
  12. It seems a lot of people here consider incidental contact in the air bracing for contact the same as a bump. If that's how it's seen then fine. I'm thinking it will be 4 weeks with a chance to appeal and arguing his case.
  13. A few more goals and it's all over in our favour. Dang.
  14. I've been more than happy to hear sensible arguments the condemn Maynard but comments like this are pure hyperbole and are making it harder to sift through the hysteria on here. Gus had the ball in his hands, how on earth can you tell he wasn't looking at the ball?
  15. I sprinted out of the G at the end for this very reason. I don't like them, and have never had exits from the stadium worse than these games.
  16. Yep, this thread is already the Home and Away of Demonland.
  17. The moment we sent 3 long balls to three forwards forming in the same spot I knew we were doomed to not score. This needs to change to become a true elite side. I cannot believe how quickly how forward line turns into a pop gun attack when we do this. It is easy to prepare for and we barely ever lock it in or get any crumbing opportunities from it. Total joke.

    Would be a bargin
  19. I thought Petracca had done his knee again.
  20. Well according to King and Co they Poor Pies didn't get enough of an advantage and should have got 75% of the tickets.
  21. I might have lost my mind but if this is such an obvious display of recklessness then why is the football public completely split down the middle on it? How is anyone going to get a good smother if they twist away to the left? You do have to be somewhat in the vicinity of the ball to smother. Yes it's careless, that's why a free kick and possible 1 or 2 weeks would do it. However there's a massive vendetta brewing here with double standards all over the place. But look everyone here seems to have it worked out so you shouldn't have to worry, 4 weeks open and shut. Done with it.
