  1. Have to say this is my thinking as well. We’ll be back for more finals footy, the list and gameplan is there. However there are more loose ends coming into next year than the previous two. Petty’s injury is a concern for me as well, Lisfranc injuries are always wait and see so a big question mark there considering he’s probably moved into the top 6 or so most important players. The ruck depth is definitely another, as much as Max wants to be a majority ruckman we will need that reliever ruck as well. There isn’t enough data on Fullerton and weather he can do that job or even as a pinch hitting forward. I love the look of Varrell but this needs to be another development year rather than pinning our hopes on him. I’m stoked that we chose Windsor as it addressed a need but again you can’t bank on first year players to come straight in and perform roles to elite levels, same with Tholstrup. Apart from above, the ‘what if’ list continues: Is Salem’s health under control and can he get back to that 2021 form? Can either Bowey or Rivers move into the middle and make a real difference week to week? Will T-Mac and BBB be able to contribute or are they just VFL mentors now? Can we trust the midfield depth we have yet? Time will tell, a ripper pre season with barely any injuries may alter my thinking but that’s where I stand. If it’s a step back to go forward I’m ok with it as well.
  2. "I got the straight set blues From my head to my shoes When the forwards fire a shot It's always there it is not Those straight set blues Those straight set blues. I've got those straight set blues Those old straight set blues Well you should see strong men quail Or just a Maynard fail Those straight set blues Those old straight set blues."
  3. You can do the track report. I believe in you!
  4. I'm good with all the numbers choices. Does anyone ever get angry with the number choices?
  5. A good draft is a good draft. Don't worry about it.
  6. More manipulating of stats for the sake of click bait.
  7. I think drafting is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
  8. I remember going to a game on a Sat night against Sydney around 2014 and sitting on the top level of the southern stand. Nathan nearby with the kids, Kynan was probably about 8. So thrilled for him We got smashed that night BTW.
  9. Just timestamping myself here to look back on in 2028.

Honestly though, I wouldn't complain if it's these two sides in the Superbowl again. BTW have you ever seen someone try to intercept a spike before?
  12. Yeah hopefully a collector's edition DVD is in the works.
  13. 12 months is such a long time in draft world.
  14. All comes down to how much we get out of Fullerton. Didn't watch a lot of him at the Lions, especially in terms of ruck work around the ground. As a forward most of his goals came from being front and square off the pack so an unknown quantity in the marking stakes as well. Very much a wait and see but I have some hope. I'll be watching Will Verall closely next year though, seems quite similar to Barnett at the Eagles and I reckon he'll be a big improver at Casey if he gets a clear run at it.
  15. I think this is the best result. Welcome Kynan! Not going to die wonder and I'm sure he's going to give everything he has with this chance.
  16. Totally agree, the competition for those spots will be immense. Also thanks for playing along with my nickname project of 'Dirk', even if you didn't mean to. I'll be doing everything possible to make this one stick.
  17. What number will he get?

Yep, like when players dip after they get their $ bag.
  19. Yeah that's true. If the roles were reversed and this final was at the G do you reckon we'd be similar?
  20. Dirk will play Rd 1. Bookmark it.
  21. Parting gift of the century.
  22. Dunno Macca, I was a bit disappointed. A presentation to empty seats doesn't look right. Yes, there's plenty of examples where this happens but it would have been nice if a few of the 100,000 stuck around.
  23. Just checking, text can be hard with these things 🙂 Kozzie was exactly what we needed and why I'm more than happy to back JT with speculative picks. The Duke could be like a QB on the Wing with a quick release?
  24. That's why I said it. No-one was championing Clarry harder. We were tongue in cheeking it a bit before and I never said people were castigating Oliver but it was a surprise pick to a lot of Phantom drafters. We were all pretty pleased with it, I was particularly stoked when the 'strong bodied' mid we got looked bigger on than Parrish on stage. The criticisms with Toumpas did come later and he was highly touted to go where he did but it still hurt. As for Windsor, I'm happy to have that pinned if it works out. Pickett was a reach too!
