I went to some Magnificent F.A Cup parties when i was a kid, the sound of Wembley singing was just brilliant. It's still a great cup, but no longer the Holy Grail, and that makes me very sad. But it's always a pleasure to see Man U beaten on their own Dump-Bloody Beautiful!
-
Fair call, but i still don't think the "Big 4" take the F.A Cup nearly as seriously as they once did, which is sad-too much money up for grabs in Europe these days. Leeds have been Rubbish for 5-6 years so you have to wonder about the mental application for the full game from United-Leeds would have been much hungrier.

I was watching the Cricket yesterday, & i knew i would cop some "Serious Chin Music" from in here!!! It's a beautiful sunny day outside today 45 Go for a walk my friend!!!
-
Hehe. i can't work out why any bowler bowls no balls really, it is their job to know the length of their run up. The odd one fair enough, but repeats are just weird. Like a full forward who can't kick goals.....
-
Awesome but you wonder how seriously ManUre take the F.A Cup these days. Sad really, when i was a teenager the F.A Cup was the Trophy to win....Wembly just chockers with fans Shall never forget '79.

Glad you find it odd, i find Pontings Brain very odd to be honest! When i say Win the Toss and Bat, that is under the circumstances of the game starting on time on a dry pitch. Yes yesterdays conditions do happen granted, but they are not the norm. My statement a few months back was a big sweeper i admit, but i haven't seen a green top like that in years-Maybe Ponting hasn't either!! Not even i would have batted on that swamp first-you could see the grass growing on it Call it exceptional circumstances which is what yesterday was. Ponting Blew it again. The only crazy pitch i remember like yesterdays straight off was that marble sheet in the West Indies in '95...that thing was mad!!!
-
I was waiting for your reply on my batting every time after winning the Toss RR. I still stand by that, BUT that does not include the situation where the first session has been lost due to rain-the pitch looks like a snooker tab & the Curator actually gives the word! Yesterdays circumstances were just too obvious... It has been raining there for days. which makes it a totally different scenario. Paki's Batting well today-Head down Bum up, something nobody did yesterday The Aussies are like Port Adelaide- Flat Track Runners sadly.

What about Ponting Trying to hook his first ball! A 5 day Test Match on a massive Green Top with a sodden outfield. Wouldn't you watch the ball for a while, see what it does. Pathetic Effort-Well done to the Paki's btw, they bowled magnificently. But Pontings effort today was just crap, has the modern cricketer lost the ability to have a long attention span?? Hussey's shot was unnecesary as well. Hooking just before Tea...Why? it's a 5 day game on a green Top!! Ok if your stumps get rattled that's good bowling, no problems, but playing one day shots under todays conditions is just not acceptable. I think a few senior players in our XI have got lazy, living on very nice contracts. Even if it is only one or two% off mentally. Today was a day to dig in and do nothing fancy. Not one of our Batsmen had that mindset. (clarke was beaten by a ripper so i will excuse him to some degree) Does Ponting understand anything about strategy?? Thats enough Ranting for now, I feel Better already. Hall of Mirrors Aussies.....

Pitch is as green as a snooker table!! Even i would have bowled first on that one Considering the amount of rain that fell this morning...
-
Anyone Heard of Chris Rogers????? Oh sorry he plays for NSW.....PHU@#$%KK!!!!! I m really mad today...
-
Jeff Farmer was a bit like that, & Allen Jakovich
-
I saw the news Highlights, that's all. But they sure rocked!! No wonder these guys are transferred for millions!
-
Hauritz is finally cleaning up a tail!!! Bloody Hell
-
Gunners Back in the Hunt....Alright!!
-
Yes i thought the same, sadly. i was actually "willing" him to have a big one during the 2nd session. it didn't happen!
-
Was it that Bad? I ask that seriously because on the TV it wasn't so bad. A reason i prefer to watch cricket on the idiot box. The camera close ups make it that much better IMO
-
Never said Hauritz should rest on his Laurels at all, & yes he got the best conditions. But he did make the most of them which is all he could do-Tomorrow with the ball will be an important day in Nathan's career i hope, as Hilditch basically gave him the Rocket last week. I saw him smile a couple of times today, and just thought maybe he is finally starting to believe he can do it, which i and many of us have doubted.
-
I agree, they can slow momentum very easily, although todays innings maybe the best thing for Hauritz. He may now believe he truly belongs out there which i think has been lacking in his game, although he was lucky to make 75-he did it. His bowling just may improve.

Yes the scott muller issue amazed me, we all heard S.K clear as day on that one!! He just walked away from that one-as only Warney could. The Paki's will give the australians a real going over, if they are in the right head space. The state of their country won't help, but they may treat it as Time out from the troubles at home and just go for it. The Paki's are like the Dockers-Talent but will they show it? I was at the '92 World Cup Final-The Paki's ripped into it that day!!!

I am just Fascinated that i have not heard more if it is that prevellent, By that i mean the real Low stuff, bcoz we often get "clean Feeds" from ch 9 (Straight out of the Ground) at work with multiple audio tracks. So the players must be very aware of how to be sledging without being screened, as those microphones are vert sensitive. You are right about next weeks game, but it has just left a real sour taste in my mouth-I wish we were playing the Windies again actually! See Chris Gayle Put Hauritz over the Roof!
-
Steady on RR, very few people relatively speaking have walked out on to a test arena so i can only go on what i hear through broadcasters microphones. All i recall hearing for years was "Bowling Shane" from either ian healy or adam gilchrist!! Any really Sledging was done very subtly or quietly. If it was that bad i certainly don't support it, But i still believe in the old theory of "What Goes on in Thailand Stays in Thailand" But i think $$ are killing that adage. I rank last weeks game because it was the first time i felt disappointment at barracking for an australian Cricket side-and i will not be attending the Boxing Day Test because of it. If you have known this "under cover" info for ages Good on ya...but i didn't. Although when Roy Symmonds gets $1:5 Mill to play for 4 weeks in india, i am notr suprised the Agro bar has been raised.
-
How would you know more about what was said on the field than i? Were you part of an Australian XI at some stage? I have never thought the Australian sides were angels, nor would i want that. They gave as good as they got. The Difference between the Australians just gone were they were great at the game & knew exactly when to sledge, thus oposition sides mentally crumbled. But i dispute the idea that other teams do not sledge just as hard, although it is hard to sledge when you are being thrashed-that happens in any sport. I doubt the MFC have done much sledging over the last few years, although there would have been a lot in Northeys day. What the Aussies did last weak was [censored] weak compared to sledging-The Windies up till then were not even rated. Last week was a sign of desperation.
-
Are you inferring that no other oposition Team Sledged the Australians?? I am sure we took as good as we got. Don't tell me the Terbinator is squeaky clean!! Sledging probably upped its anti after the body line series, so i don't see why you are just singling out S.R's Team. Tony Greig was a superb sledger!!
-
Steve Waugh was never going to be a loser-some players are like that. Thats why he became captain. He instilled a respect in the baggy green which had not been set before All teams sledge, S.R's team was not the First some of it is out right funny, i have no problem with that, but i do have a problem with last weeks behavior (The new Referral system is going to cause all out war if it is not fine tuned quickly).
-
RR I have no problem with sledging, in fact i expect it. I have a major Problem with immature arrogance which is what i watched last week. Benn got 2 matches for his part in the "minor" Incident, Haddin should have got the same/. Shane Watson should have been sent off. That was just so embarrassing to watch. We obviously disagree on the style of S.R.Waugh's captaincy.
