  1. I gather Posts can’t be deleted off the board, as i have been trying to find a delete function for about 10 minutes!! there isn’t one!!
  2. Yes i read that the club didn’t want exposure. Just so short sighted. I lost a very close mate to suicide 4 years ago, and that stemmed from Workplace bullying over a period of at least 2 years. The company did nothing about it even though they knew about it, but the boss turned up to the Funeral and offered to pay for the service. Let’s just say a few people had to be restrained when they found out who this person was.
  3. The AFL and the clubs still think they are somewhat outside of society, when in reality they are Front and center in terms of interest. Why would a talk be cancelled???
  4. Wow. That is so sad. To be in that mindset, to will yourself to do that...That Black Dog is a strong energy pull i often see on my twitter feed that Wayne Schwass still plans out every single day....
  5. Yep. Sucking the $$$’s out of other Sports is an AFL artform Never satisfied....
  6. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$’s
  7. Sydney with nearly 61,000 Members. I would never have guessed anywhere near that!! Must be a lot of Free Tickets up there to bump up those figures
  8. So it shouldn’t be played. The risks are too high My point from the beginning. I don’t barrack for the AFL, i barrack for the MFC. This AFLX thing will not help us win Flags, but it may get Gill a Bonus....
  9. So we have to sacrifice our 2-3 players for this blazè Quasi American experiment to maybe work. If the product was good enough it should survive on its own merits. Time will tell. But if a Demon is badly injured you have been forwarned SWYL will not be in a good space!!!
  10. Gotta be dodgy. 2 Game Membership maybe?? Something Bumped it up
  11. But you can’t have it both ways. You want to see Topline Players competing in this thing, but no MFC Players. You can bet most supporters will feel exactly the same way. “But don’t use our players...” just wait until a Reiwolt or a Dangerfield does a knee or breaks a serious bone playing this Summer Marvel Cartoon thing... And let’s hope it aint a Demon
  12. The MCG Members keep the MCG running Sure there are other sources, but Membership keeps the old girl alive...
  13. Oh dear will Scooby Doo be on at Half Time
  14. I understand the concept. I know what the AFL want to do. I just don’t like it because the product is cheap and Americanised, and if any players get injured playing this Crap, i hope the AFL get sued.
  15. I agree entertainment ans sport are becoming blurred in some areas and yes Tackle Free Footy. I am glad you mention that. It’s not footy is it. By all means promote a hybrid sport, i am not against that, i am against using elite AFL Footballers to do it. That is my point of contention all along. The risks are too high for heavily invested Clubs, Sponsors and Members
  16. T20 means nothing. It is forgotten the next day. I don’t consider that to be great for the sport. Yes it makes a lot of money, and many use that as a measuring stick. I think Day/Night Test Matches are a great idea. With T20 Players are on obscene contracts for 6 weeks work and who would want to be a bowler? Some people think it’s a great idea. I think it’s cheap and nasty Just don’t play senior players in the AFLX... The risk for little reward is too high
  17. You will rate injuries if this “New Brilliant Marketing Option” takes out gun MFC Players and stops us winning flags. The game markets itself in my opinion, i still question the relevance of GW$ or Gold Coa$t. But that is another topic
  18. Yes you have said all that before, not all change is good and i will repeat AFLX should not use Senior Club listed players in its experiments. It will get ugly if someone is seriously hurt. That is my main concern. It’s why State of Origin was killed off, and we all loved those games
  19. It shouldn’t be all about players increasing there wages by grotesque amounts. It has to be about the quality of the game. BBL at a state level i can handle. But i hate it at international level. It is unnecessary, and yes i know it is my opinion. The sub continent has a lot to answer for in the state of cricket, but as Indians will bet on anything i suppose it was inevitable. I don’t have to like it though
  20. I have mentioned it many times. Injuries to top line players. Let’s just imagine if 2 MFC players go down playing this years AFLX Tournament for teams that are meaningless. Where’s the harm in that Macca? I want September football. Senior AFL Players should not be playing AFLX.
  21. I will be very sad if AFLX becomes the main game in future, when i think the game we have now is a great spectacle as it is. I am well aware that my opinion as a 55 year old means little, but i do buy memberships every year, so i can voice an opinion. This new AFLX version is using teams that don’t even exist!! Why? It will prove nothing except be dangerous for players and let Broadcasters sell advertising. If our game was a 5 hour game, i would see a point to it, but it isn’t. We already have a fantastic product
  22. I have been too many countries Macca. My eyes are not closed. Are you insinuating that Millenials don’t like the game of AFL? It runs for 3 hours about the same time as a T20 match. I just don’t like deconstructing a product that is already dam good. Just wait till an AFL star is injured for the year, playing this diluted hybrid. Kids still enjoy AFL. The overseas market will always be miniscule, why because they already have their own codes of Football.
  23. But it’s not Australian Rules Football. It is a weird hybrid. The AFL wants to rule the world and will try anything. Personally i think it is a waste of time and money. Expats play AFL overseas and that is how it will stay. I don’t want to have senior players injured in a game that means nothing except to the AFL Heads and Commission ego’s
  24. If AFLX takes off around the world, then i will happily say i was wrong. Maybe it will in 50 years. Who knows? i don’t think it will. I would prefer the AFL spent money on existing clubs as i think many stadium deals are still very average. We wait and watch the outcome
  25. I understand what you are saying Macca. But why do we need to promote the game worldwide? I have never understood this. It is an Australian game. If people want to see it they can come here during the season. Changing the game to suit other countries i disagree with strong. Our game is unique, which is it’s appeal. This AFLX is just cheap garbage for the broadcasters to sell some advertising space. Somebody will get injured and clubs and fans will not be impressed
