I would like a key forward to take marks regularly. I don’t care how they do it, but Key forwards always have more than one opponent so i would be practicing that mode
This is why i struggle to understand modern training.
forwards should be working on Pack Marks and crumbing the ball, as well as goal Kicking at Training.
That is their job i would have thought!!
Which is why right now, I am ok with not giving Weid easy games without him earning them. Out of all our forwards he has the most potential to be a target.
make him earn the spot. We may lose a few in the process, but TMac is a 2nd or 3rd Forward. We know that.
The Weid can still be the primary target,if he is hungry enough.
it is not easy, i get that because defenders now swarm the goal square
The Weid has to get angry if he is to succeed
Whorethorn understand hard work, it doesn’t matter so much who is in the side.
The MFC touch on hard work sporadically, but then say “We have done it” and let go
At Whorethorn it is a requirement every year.
Remember last year they went to Canberra and played in the snow....and won the game. Games like that i dream of the MFC winning....
That’s fair, but it was 2 years ago and he has done very little since at senior level.
Missing that goal, to win the game up north last year didn’t help sadly
The Weid may well have been given a specific standard to reach you don’t know.
I don’t mind Jackson getting a “taste” at all, IF he is still struggling in 2-3 weeks i will be asking questions.
As it is we are still wondering about the Weid 5 years in
There is a difference
He played well against Jeelong, i don’t recall the rest being of the same level, but the whole team lifted in that period so i will take your word for it.
Ask Goodwin why The Weid isn’t getting a game, i have given you my reasons, and that’s all they are.
You just don’t like what i said
Jackson is in, the Weid kicks with the morning dew
Clarry is tough, don’t get me wrong. Yes he does lay some hard tackles in the middle of the ground, but he needs to do more work around the ground to go to the next level
He will get there...
1-2 games for Jackson now is not going to harm him either way.
But the Weid is 5 years into his career and has still not cemented his position, and this is at the same time TMac is struggling.
Tells me the Weid is not doing as well as he could, OR the club want him to do his thing over a sustained period before he plays Seniors
When has the Weid played 2 good games in a row??
This is exactly what Clayton needs to lift towards.
He is a gun Midfielder but he will be so much better if he can tackle more and kick 1-2 goals a game
Yep. Weid did well last week but he has to keep doing it, if he wants to be the number one target.
The offer is waiting for him, because TMac is not a number one target up forward
