  1. If Neitz was to replace Aussie it would be a disgrace. This is the exact problem we have as a club. There are too many selfish players at the club, someone must put there egos aside and retire gracefully for the club to go forward. I would expect Yze to be as selfish as ever but I would be disappointed if Neitz was to go for one last shot of glory ahead of developing kids. How can the club talk about fast tracking kids and then do this? Keep Aussie in the seniors. The last thing we need is a repeat of last year having farewell games for club favorites costing us draft picks. Carlton didn't have one for Kouta and Lappin and now they have Judd and Kruezer. We played Pickett, Brown and Bizzell and won and got nothing. Time for Melbourne to start thinking with their head and not their heart.

CORRECT-Lap of Honour on Q Birthday is perfect

  2. Long time lurker, I finally had to say something. I flew across the ditch from NZ for family business and convince my father to take me the game on Sunday. My grandfather played for this great club, my grand mother was in the stands every weekend, I buy 3 memberships each year for my mother father and myself and my whole family hearts beats red and blue.

Pre game I was kinda embarrassed for the club, not many people there, kinda lame rousing of emotions with the trumpeter and spruiker and felt like we were at a very low ebb. By half time I though all the articles and forums were right and this club was dying. I leant across to my old man who was struggling and said "If this doesn’t get better soon I am taking you home."

The last half of footy is something I will take with me for the rest of my life. I screamed my throat horse, my father grew with pride, and I think I saw something that was lacking for at least 2 years. Some bloody heart and soul. Some pride in the history and the jumper. And some bloody support from the crowd.

I really don’t care if it was the game plan that stuck, or some players stepping up (Miller, Jarmar etc). What I care about there was 18,000 Demons fans there making the noise of 50,000. There was a chilling atmosphere and was proud to fly the scarf out the window all the way home.

There are tough times ahead but what I wanted to say is support this club. You can see what a difference it made on the weekend. Get behind the players, stop your finger pointing, pay your membership and get on board.

    GO DEES

Yes. That's exactly how i felt with my dad. The Demons will live on and eventually thrive.

  3. we did lose 2 games by a 100 points. our performances in the last 6 round were one of the worst of the decade, no buts about that.

Actually it was six and a half games. The first half last sunday was the worst of the season.

That said considering their Facilities and Membership. I think Fremantle are by far the worst team of the decade. should never have come into the comp "I didn't vote for 'em!"

  4. If you are trying to imply that Wonas game on Sunday was a similar standard to his past games... dont fool yourself.

He stepped up quite a few notches on Sunday. He did some nice things before but he was a far better player out there on Sunday.

And I wouldnt dare accuse you of flossing when you re-write a bit of history after the event. ;)

Put it this way-it didn't suprise me that he fired up on sunday-It had been building and was going to happen. Certain people have it, maybe for a short time granted, but Austen has it. I don't want to argue Rhino- we love the same team- Just enjoy the kid while its there Buddy. Nothing in life is solid or forever

  5. http://youtube.com/watch?v=NdfXrwX6vOU

with the state of orirign returning, i thought id post a link of one of the greatest footy moments ever seen ejs lap of honour in the 1995 state of o rigin, i have not met a person who didnt cry during this moment, as he was state of origin

looking forward to watching saturdays game, i know theres no dees players in it, but i will be proudly supporting the Vics

Great hat 1995 stuff-I still have the Video of the 1989 Game at the 'G against the South Aussies-Pure Killing-Great Day.

  6. i said at half time...i will not be too upset from here if we lose as long as we have a consisten effort in the second half and knuckle down...when we kicked five straight, if we consistently played well from there but still lost, i would have been upset but still happy with the improvement...it was one of the best days of my life to see the win!

Totally Agree, although after the First Goal in the final Q 30 secs in- I knew we would get 'em. The old Members couldn't believe my Barracking-i didn't care!!

  7. Look i am Hoping Austen Keeps playing. Young kids may start going to Aus Kick wearing a Melbourne Jumper and become life long members because of him. Nietz is a legend whether he plays again or not. Give Nieta a Motorcade on Queens Birthday and put him on the coaching staff. Worth Considering. There is no Gain in Neita playing again, a neck injury is too serious.

  8. I said another wingnut that does not read the thread only just the title.

Before Sunday he was a fringe player and as I have pointed he stepped up against the Dockers.

Another vacuous hero incorrectly point scoring off misconstrued hindsight.

But i always considered Austin above a fringe player before sunday, as i said he was the reason and the only reason i made the trip into the game on sunday was him.

Before Sunday he was the only player who stood up and wanted to attack.

  9. Its posts like that which remove any doubts I had about you Little. Another wingnut that does not read the thread.

I read the thread title just fine Rhino. You were the one who said Austin was a fringe player not i.

Like fonzie occassionally you were w w w wr wro wrong.

Russel Richards was certainly a fringe player though, that i do remember!!

  10. Sounds to me like our new CEO has already done a great thing. Kick to kick on the Hallowed turf saved even a few die hards from Leaving Early. I am now just a little bit confident that the Melbourne Football club will rise to power. Things are Happenning. In the words of Bill Murray from "what about Bob"- Baby steps!

  11. My old man messaged me (we sit in different areas) to say that he was heading off at half time. Only problem was that I had to remind him that he was my lift home, so he was forced to stay till the end. He thanked me later

Ha Ha You can remind him of that for years-Classic!!!!
