You're a hard man Y_M. I agree his foot and hand skills have become more "conscious" (as opposed to subconscious effective) over the last 20 games or so. We could debate his inside efficiency also. Even at 28yo could DB's new game plan (whatever i.e) be affecting his ability to steady? Can he get time off for good behaviour from seasons 2001-2006? Or do we just sell him?

Interestingly he has kicked a career 192 goals, around half the number of Robbo's 399, in 38 fewer games, and has never really played forward. He could be placed forward if a particular game necessitated. He's no Brad Johnson though.

If DB has said to Adem that selection is based on form, does it follow he will get selected based on best afield for Sandy last week?

The general consensus here is that Adem is past it, and should not play another game. If this is true, is DB being honest with him telling him selection is based on form? If Bails does not believe Adem is in MFC's 2009 plans he should tell him now so Adem can make decisions about his future. This great Demons servant deserves that surely.

Yeh, I think that's basically right Hannabal, except I would say; Play to win, coach to win, manage the list for best long term outcome. I think this is not tanking.

We slammed Carltank last year for it and WCE will forever be known as the greatest cheats of all time for their performance enhanced efforts of the past few years and now their obvious club decision to lose at all costs. Neither club has any credibility whatsoever and are the scum of the competition. There is no guarantee that any of Naitanui, Watts or Rich would become a Judd. Indeed what is the use of having a Judd if the club is scum. It will be interesting to see if Judd can get Carltank a premiership. I don't think he can. Too many selfish cretins like Fevola, Stevens etc. DB is 'list managing' our team beautifully to get the most game time into as many legs as possible so proper list decisions can be made in due course. I have no doubt about Brad Millers quote in The Age last friday when he said "We're still trying to win a game. We've been trying to win a game all year. On-field it doesn't change anything we are trying to do". Winning culture is the answer. You can't buy that! Tank? No thank you!

IMO WHITE won't play as 2 other ruckmen are selected as starters. BODE has been given the last 4 games and I think he'll go back to the magoos for more development. Can't imagine MARTIN and VALENTI missing out ofter only 1 game back. They need game time. CARROLL is probably only named as a backline emergency this time. I think BELL makes it in as a stronger body against hard bodied opposition. The bench may be BELL, MARTIN, VALENTI, NEWTON as most of you have already suggested.

Amazing how a player can go from shite to rising star in a career 13 games isn't it. I agree with Wrathchild's earlier post to give them 20+ games to get a reasonable idea. I'll be happy to see more 'duds' played during the season remainder. I think we'll see some potential strawberry jam.

These guys have played a major part in the improvement of the Dees this year which culminated in the best day I have ever had at the footy, last sundays win over top eight Brisbane. (I was jumping so high when 1NA cleared I nearly fell down the stair well) Garland, after playing the first 3 games of the year has been back for the last 8, Warnock the last 9. These guys have very similar stats; Possessions 123 and 103, Marks 49 and 30, Tackles 14 and 12, FF 3 and 3, FA 13 and 10. They have played a total of 13 and 13 games for the Dees. We supporters are now appreciating the Dees potential since the Freo win and the devlopment of these two defenders. Happy Dayz! (a season ending 16th place would be good though)

That said, I could understand the social pressures he would be under back up north with family, friends etc. Does anyone know if he'll play in the magoos this week? If so, is that a good idea? He doesn't need to prove his form or get injured with Sandy. Will they just rest him?
