This season has turned into another 'development' year
-
Why do you think that Bailey is a really good coach ?
Is there anyone else in your sights Hannabal?
-
I can't believe the media weren't onto this.
Got a good chuckle out of that one HT, cheers.
-
For some reason I think we'll do well, with high intensity being the name of the game. Also, the increasing ability of this team to be role re-structured gives heart. Barts a loss.
-
Interesting Moloney hypotheticals, I'd be curious to see his sans Jamar position on that list over time.
No doubt the loadings (as with any such system) will be adjusted over time, that said - Jurrah!

A sad & horrible week for the AFL. It's little wonder that besides my beloved MFC interest in the game as a whole subsides.
-
Eh. Turn your back to your opponent and elbow them to the head or back kick the gonads. JUST DONT TACKLE.
-
Appendix 1 of the AFL player rules document:
Contact shall be classified as high or to the groin where a players head or groin makes contact with another player or object such as the fence or the ground as a result of the actions of the offending player. By way of example, should a player tackle another player around the waist and as a result of the tackle the tackled players head made forceful contact with the fence or the ground the contact in these circumstances would be classified as high even though the tackle was to the body

To be clear.. MRP.

Dont bother tackling. Elbow to the head or go for the goolies.
-
"he would have been better off Mule kicking him in the plums" +1. (from the HUNs comments section.)
-
Nice work Col.
Bartrams interview on the MFC site is also worth a watch.
-
Clint Bartram. He was right in there today. Top Game.

The reason why we won this week was nothing to do with Dean Bailey. Obviously it was because "the players played well".
The next time that we lose it will have nothing to do with the playing group and will be all the coach's fault.

Is Martin over 25??
I thought he was only about 22.
He's 25 in November.
About to head out of the office Thomo, will have a go at your post this evening.

There are and have been plenty of 'this weeks excuse to sack the coach' threads to bring comfort to those offended / traumatised by this thread. But they certainly aren't tiresome, no. After all, it's only a matter of having a gameplan that fans like. Only a matter of playing for 4 quarters. List capability is irrelevent. List experience is irrelevent - see WCEs 7 premiership players. Means nothing, nothing more than:
D. Cox 3 goals 23 disp 10 marks 3 i50 10 cp
A. Embley 17 disp 3 goals 4 i50
Q. Lynch 13 disp 3 goals 5 i50
D. Kerr 27 disp 7 i50
A. Selwood 19 disp 7 marks 8cp
S. Butler 21 disp 10 marks 9 tackles
D. Glass 13 disp 6 marks.
Top those guys off with Rosa and Priddis: 59 disps, 13 i50s, between them.
All the above WCE players are 25 or over with the exception of Rosa who's 25 in November.
Our players ~25+: Green, Davey, Jamar, Moloney, Warnock, Macdonald, Rivers, Sylvia, Martin.
What did CS say, this year and last, about our timeline, and where we're at?
"this is not the time for knee-jerk reactions" - totally agree.
-
How do you account for our more games experience and same age lists ?
Explain to me why they're wrong. I'll analyse (pick apart) your stats and offerings when I get the chance later today.
I think you know the answers Hannabal. Devils advocate for a minute and respond to yourself (if you dont mind).
-
Wow. Ok, question has been asked and answered. Can we move on before the children get unthought of?
-
Damn it. Thought your link was going to be a positive spin on Watts.
Sorry about that. I checked the initial post and found that it was the DB interview, fixed the link in an edit (Watts interview opened for me) and went on my way. Odd.

It's not that 'our senior players were well held / run off', Davey was not interested in playing last night. after he disposed of the ball he would simple stop running, and his defense was non existent. Difference between being well help and not bothering to try.
That's what Davey does more often than not when well held. Perhaps he preempted himself.

where have all the "have_trust_in_the_FD,_they_know_what_they_are_doing" apologists gone?
When you're younger, smaller, lighter, less experienced:
-playing a full court press is very dangerous.
-coping with a full court press is very difficult.
-man on man starts with assuming a lost contest.
-isolations are few and far between and are locked down sooner rather than later.
The learned ability to play calmly yet decisively through presses will be golden in years to come.
Having tried and failed is no reason to stop, indeed it would be at the cost of player/team development.
I suppose I could work myself into a fit because we lost a game we were expected to lose.
Or because our senior players were well held / run off.
We ARE essentially GC+1 atm. Development year? 2013+? I'll save my fit for those that derail that plan.

Try hitting the control and + symbol at the same time. Alternatively, via the menu, View -> Zoom should fix it.
Edit: Mad kb skillz for your cat btw
