  1. what's the problem? led all game. never headed and still plenty of room for improvement
  2. nice to see umps have thrown away the whistle - only 6 frees paid
  3. now that went out the window quite a few years ago, od, or weren't you paying attention?
  4. was all public (australia) pressure. without it ca would have applied the wet lettuce, let's not kid ourselves
  5. i agree. i got those measurements from a newspaper article. he did get 100cm in the running jump. niknak has the record at 102cm so he must be reasonably tall to do that
  6. i thought i said effectively that i disagree that this was the final straw for ca . they have been conspicuous by their lack of action and concern for all the bad behaviour nevertheless the punishment for ball tampering is excessive, it is not justice to punish someone for an offence based on what others have done previously and for what they are not specifically charged with. nor to be so markedly different from precedence 3 months (maybe 6) would have been more appropriate and still sent a harsh message
  7. i see your point but also mr legs. whilst the icc standard ball tampering penalty of 1 match (+ some points and match fee) is manifestly inadequate, there is one hell of a big difference from 1 game for 1 person to nearly three years across 3 people (plus all the attendant $ costs that result) I think too that this is the first case that the offenders have actually owned up. In the other cases all sorts of stupid claims of innocence were made and du plessis even appealed one of his charges. some say that this instance was worse because of premeditation and complicity. You can't tell me all the other ones weren't premeditated and as for complicity we just wouldn't know because they all claimed innocence. to me they were all just the same - a blatant breaking of the rules and cheating, full stop bottom line, i think the final penalties were excessive and the players effectively punished also for all the perceived recent sins of the team i don't doubt the public outrage was increased due to the general bad sportsmanlike behaviour of the team in recent years and that this was a major factor in determining the sentence (fairly or not). this makes ca all the more hypocritical as they have had adequate opportunity over the years to do something about this bad behaviour but chose to ignore it and therefore tacitly give it approval
  8. rather appropriate for easter, od being crucified for the sins of others, that is...............
  9. and btw, mods, the cricket thread in general forum seems corrupted if i select next unread or last post i get an error code. been this way for a number of days may just be me, for some reason, but can someone have a look at it please?
  10. lol, wyl is stuck in on-message mode, od should have been a pollie
  11. think the boys probably waiting for their infinitis
  12. now no need to be disrespectful, moonie. and in my childhood sepia was all the rage. just as long as you don't leave it parked on the street overnight in hipsroy, earl. spraypaint, vomit and latte dregs can be difficult to clean off. thought you'd be more a bentley man than a yank muscle car jock
  13. nah, just figured you and ethan would be big sheldon fans and i've graduated from play school to peppa pig, thanks to grandsons
  14. saffers captain du plessis has had 2 ball tampering incidents against him. i don't remember the same outrage and he's certainly still the captain. not saying its exactly the same or ok, but are there some double standards going on here? smith, warner and anyone else involved should get suspensions from ca, but not necessarily over the top as some are calling for
  15. heads up for @Moonshadow & @Ethan Tremblay. just 2 more sleeps !
  16. and because when he does get the ball his decision making and disposal is too suspect
  17. what a pathetic effort. this team has been on a slippery slope for a long time. and fmd what was a tiny piece of yellow sticky tape ever going to achieve? sheer amateurs. now thrown everything away. shlt for brains
  18. 700 up on last year 28/03/17. 2 more days to be 1,000 up 37,725
  19. are you referring to all marks or contested marks? jelong did pick up a lot of cheap marks from chipping the ball around but, yes i did get the impression they had a lot more contested marks we also have a dearth of genuine talls in our best 22
