Newton. Move on folks, the club has and so will he at year's end.
-
If they all improve and we get good seasons from Bruce, Green, Jamar, Davey, Sylvia, Jones, Rivers, Warnock and A show from Watts it'll be no knife's edge, it'll be the 8 in a canter. We just might be getting a year or 2 ahead of ourselves but who knows.
-
When you find yourself with the last 3 posts on a thread it's probably time to move on.
-
Maric, Jetta, Bennell. Personally i think Jetta is the most underrated player on the list. Sylvia, Grimes and Frawley are already out.

I wish I were just 40

You like this thread that's why you keep coming back for more. Admit it, carlton bashing is fun. It's ok to admit it, you'll feel much better when you do. I mean if you really thought it was crap you'd stop coming back for more, but you love it and that's ok.

I was wondering when you would chalk up another post

Crap crap crap noise noise noise how are you still posting?

So you admit this was a leadership failure on his part, pretty much what everyone on here is saying. How about you get this straight. "Juddy" got it wrong, way wrong. Carlton are not anywhere near a premeirship. They have little to no talent after their top few and without Fevola none is going to kick the score required to win a premeirship. I'm long over it. You infact outlined why we didn't want him and that we are better off without him. Sure he might be a terrific bloke but so far he has proved to be a lousy captain One last thing did he explain to you why he eye gouges, or is that kind of behaviour just part of his character.

No one barracks for Melbourne which is why we've gambled on Casey. The club is going to pour resources and effort into turning local residents into supporters and then members. I think it's a great plan but it will take 10 - 15 years of sound management, hard work and real passion to really fix this club. Paersonally I think we've got a better than good chance of success. What we need is a premeirship cup or two(2013-2014) and a couple of superstar players (Watts and Scully)to show around the schools and community centres in Casey.

Ask Nathan Brown how well he got over his serious leg injury. I stand by my point that this is a serious injury and will take 2 years to fully recover from. Remember first the leg heals, which has taken roughly 8 - 10 months, then the fitness returns, another 3 - 5 months, then match practice and the feeling for the game returns, say 3 -5 months, then the mind forgets about the injury and allows the player to fully commit. I stand by the fact that Blease won't be doing much until at least 2011. As for my remarks over Tapscott, let's just wait and see shall we.
-
Listen, we have all spent alot of time, myself included, talking up the "potential" of our list and when they will start winning premeirships. I thought it time to see if anyone out there thought any of our players weren't upto the task of Premeirships. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong on Tapscott but I don't think I will be, this hardly constitutes "dissing" him. As for Moloney, I admire his passion and I respect the way he goes about it. Do I think he'll be in our best 22 in 3 - 4 years time. Not when Grimes, Scully, Trengove, Morton, Jones, Blease, Bennel, Davey and co rule the midfield.
-
What makes you think pick 18 in a weak draft will be any better than Moloney. Chances are he won't be and if that's the case he won't last 3 years.
-
Sure but it certainly spread and intensified after he went to carlton. The main point of the thread being who else don't you rate who may have so far avoided the griller, or has at least not been completely burnt by it yet. I'll give an example to help us get started. Tapscott - one trick pony, albeit a big one. The side doesn't need 2 Brent Moloney's, barely enough room for 1. Recruited to keep Trengove happy and that's fine by me.

Now that Brock has left the club, his critics are finally emerging from the shadows. As I wrote in my reply to the "Loss of Brock" thread, does this mean there are many other favourite sons at the club you're secretly not rating? If so, who are they? Come on, let it all out - they may be here a lot longer than Brock was... it'll be therapeutic, I promise... (balls time) I hope borrowing this thread from Demonology is ok. I think it's a good discussion to have during these lean times.
-
I see your point and on any other issue in my life I subscribe to that view. But when it comes to carlton, well it's just so much fun to see what they have become. Once the tennis is over and footy again dominates the news I'll move on back to our great club and its resurgence. Until then a little Carlton bashing goes along way.

Like Hawthorn? By the way, if you cook a Chicken for 46 years there would be nothing left to eat anyway
-
That's quite a layoff. He returned after he'd retired.

Drink and Sing and be Merry

By the sounds of the break it's a 2 year injury. I'd be bracing for a setback with this kind of damage. Luckily he's young but I can't see him really getting going until at least 2011 - 2012. Of course I could be wrong.
-
What if everything were to go right? What if Garland, Maric, Wonaeamirri, Blease, Strauss and Jamar all had an injury free year and came into the side and had an impact? What if the elders in Junior, Bruce, Green, Moloney and Davey all stood up and led from the front? What if Watts developed faster than expected? What if Jurrah, Bate, Sylvia, Petterd, Miller became a functioning forward line? What if one of Scully or Trengove took a big step ala Daniel Rich? What if Morton, Jones, Grimes and Frawley took another big step in their development? What if Bennell and Jetta, with full preseasons took another step? What if all these things happened? I'll tell you what, we'll be playing finals in 2010! (I'm bored by the off season )
-
7-11 Won't win a final Are ordinary after their top few. If Judd goes forward it's too protect him from something. How strong is his body. The wear on those groins might be worse than is reported. (Pure conjecture) Brock will be a handy addition but we won't miss him.
-
Just another reason to think little of him.

I remember Frawley "training the house down" last summer and then being clearly seen for the entire season.
