I'd absolutely re-sign Garland. He's an important for us. Howe? There seems to be a gap between his view of his worth to the team, and his actual worth to the team. Suspect he has a greedy manager who's giving him bad advice. Would trade him for a first round pick or a really decent midfielder, but nothing less.

You obviously don't recall the Frawley debate very clearly. I think most regulars here know my view on that one - and it's kind of the opposite of what you've attributed to me.

I'd be extremely disappointed if Garland was to leave this club. Quality player. Quality individual. Quality clubman. Sign him up.

Yep - this will make us a top 4 team. Terlich hasn't even played a senior game this year, McKenzie has played one or two - but we've still been hammered by GWS, Sydney, Hawthorn and Port. Clearly fair to put the blame squarely at these players who've not even played in some of those games.

Matt Jones is not the problem. He's a good depth player. Every club has them. We need more genuine stars in the midfield. Everyone here who goes about M Jones, Terlich, Bail, McKenzie needs to realise that these players are not taking much of the cap. It's the guys who are paid the big $$$ who need to be more accountable - because that money can and should be spent on quality players from other clubs who would deliver more.

For all the high draft picks we've wasted over the years, it feels so sweet to absolutely nail a left field rookie pick like this. He already looks like a top 5 draft pick.

No nutbean - you are merely suffering a form of 'confirmation bias', through which you seek to construe all comments as either supporting or going against your own personal prejudice on this issue. I think everyone here viewed Frawley as one of our most important, required players. But the subtleties and nuances of the debate (eg, his leadership role at the club, the likely compensation etc) seem to have been lost on you, and conveniently you've blended it all together to assert a position that doesn't actually reflect the comments that various posters made in relation to this issue.

Petracca and Brayshaw look so un-MFC like for draftee midfielders to the club. Neither are choir boys. Bloody pumped. About time. I have always loved this club. And it feels like it is finally starting to pay me back.

I, for one, will desperately miss Chip's well intentioned, country boy loyalty.

Brayshaw and Petracca would be unbelievable for this club. Would be very happy with Brayshaw and McCartin too. In some respects, having picks 2 and 3 is probably as good as having picks 1 & 2 in this draft.

Would be a positive move.

Who do you think Port would've selected with pick 4 in that draft, picket? Anyone have the inside scoop for that matter?

Posted this on the 'trades' thread but perhaps more relevant to this one. ... I agree. Toumpas looks okay to me. His greatest crime appears to have been in being selected ahead of Ollie Wines. Hardly his fault, and not the only player in that draft to be selected above him. In fact, it'd be interesting to know who Port would've selected with pick 4 if they were in our position. As we all know, all the clubs had Toumpas going ahead of Wines on draft day. That Wines would now be selected ahead of most in the league is a completely different issue.

I suggest that all the Jack Watts detractors here, all of whom say the same stuff week in week out, listen to the last section of the Bernie Vince interview on the official website. I'll back Bernie's views over the repetitive keyboard warrior criticism that I continually read here about Watts. Watts clearly brings a lot more to this list, on and off field, than many here care/bother to recognise. Fortunately, I reckon the likes of Paul Roos get this though.

Reckon Riley should've been included in that list. I reckon he'll prove to be the 'find' that Adelaide didn't see coming and which they may very we'll live to regret. Vince, Michie, Cross and Tyson are our best recruits IMO, but (with the possible exception of Michie) I hardly think any of them are 'finds' as such. Probably a battle between JKH and Georgiou for the 'find' of 2014. On a needs basis, probably Georgiou.

BH, I regard you as one of the best posters on this site. It's possible, however, that your assessment of Watts is not entirely on the money. Surely you should reassess your view on Watts given Roos assessment of him, particularly given that you clearly rate Roos.

I'd like to see a term incorporated into Watts' new MFC contract that he be obliged to sack Connors as player agent and retain the services of someone with a brain. I will be very, very happy to see Watts and Sylvia re-commit to this club. Fingers crossed.

I had thought we let Rivers go because Watts was going to perform his role. Seems as though we're a bit all over the shop here. Also, I don't see Gawn as a player aggrieved with Neeld - it's the older players who seem to have an issue with him. PS. I get that Rivers was a free agent and 'decided' to leave.

Bloody hell. If this is true, I am absolutely in the camp of retaining Frawley, Watts and Sylvia over Neeld. These signatures are a litmus test for Neeld IMO.

Hope we implement and then strictly enforce the Swans' no d1ckhead policy. It works.
