Except Spargo is one of the best in the league at hitting a target inside 50 - totally sensible in that regard, trying to rectify the issue that we were so deficient in last week.  I'm also hoping we can play Patracca forward more this week with Jordan in the side as I also think this will help both or goal scoring capasity and inside 50 connection.

Except Spargo has barely had a kick since Round 5.

He had a bright start to the season but has been off since he got himself knocked out trying to duck a tackle.

It's a risk assessment for Jake and the club.

One year - get the knee right, assimilate back into the senior team late in the season and see how it looks.

I'll back him in. Faced adversity his whole career given supplement scandal, redefining his position and now the knee.

I read somewhere (and I CBF looking for it) that Melk's ACL tear was one of the "better" ones and all going well he may be available mid season. That kinda reinforces the decision to contract him for another year

  3. Let's keep this thing rolling.

Apologies to plenty again,  especially Tayla who played a great key forward role without a significant scoreboard impact.

More encouraging signs from young Georgie Campbell as well.  Pleasing.

The point most people are missing in this is that he was in the AIR.

He won't get weeks due to the fact he was in the air and had no reasonable means to avoid contact unlike someone who has two feet planted on the ground..

The intention was the Smother also, not to bump. And his last action was to brace whilst mid air.

    It's vastly different.

Because while in the AIR he turned his right shoulder into Brayshaw.  If you can twist your body to the right while in the AIR, you can just as easily twist left in which case contact would likely be negligible. Or you can extend your arms and protect yourself and the other player by fending with hands to the chest.

I've no issue with the attempted smother but once Maynard's hands missed the footy, he had options.  He took the worst one.

I’m pretty sure Fritsch did a reasonable job negating Moore earlier in the season

He also took Nick Haynes to the cleaners when Haynes was at the height of his powers. Twice in a season.  Some folks should watch closer.

Just had a ripping tribute to the young fella Charlie and his family on AFL 360.

Proud to be a Demon just like Charlie.

    R.I.P 🇱🇮❤️

I am a cynical old git but that segment had me tearing up. A reminder that we should all gather up those we love and give thanks for what we've got.

RIP Charlie you little Demon champion

Couldn't find a thread on him, so thought I'd put it in here.

I hope we're into Ben McKay, provided he's willing to come across a bit cheaper.

He'd be an upgrade on Tomlinson, serve as May's ultimate replacement, allow May to play higher up the ground and enable Petty to go forward permanently in 2024.

We might try and back Adams and Turner, but I don't think either of them can play on that gorilla type and this is what free agency is for. To enable the top clubs to poach good players from struggling clubs. 😉

It could be our Frawley to Hawthorn move.

He's been injured or ordinary the last two years. While trying to carry Norf's defence on his back.

Prior to that he looked really promising,  particularly in tandem with Robbie Tarrant.

I've found myself wondering how he'd slot in as May's apprentice and heir apparent.  It would also free up Petty to stay at CHF. It's well worth investigating.

The whisper is that he's off to Essendon. Surely working with Lever and May at a club in premiership contention would be more appealing from McKay's perspective.

Cutting the Druggies grass is an extra benefit in my view 😉
