Saints, Eagles & Packers. Don't recall them dropping 2 in a row too often

Probably should wait but what the hell. Not sure about the Power Rankings concept so you can call these Biff rankings. Would have been quite different had I done them before the weekend Ravens Saints Seahawks 49ers Pats Packers Vikings Chiefs Bills Cowboys Titans Texans
  3. 7. I thought we had more coaches, less top-half finishes and Geelong kicked about 999 points. The veil of negativity weighs heavy
  4. Go your hardest Leg. It's not like you have to drive home. Bung on a life jacket if you get a bit wobbly !

    Steelers Raiders Ravens
  6. Thanks Kenny
  7. At about 4.10 in Goodwin's speech "............we need to come up with a forward structure that enables it to thrive..........." Praise the Lord. Our forward structure has been diabolical. Basically talls get yourselves so far up the ground you eliminate yourselves as marking targets. The mids & half forwards, flood our forward line so we have no space to work in. Yes our delivery has been terrible - there's no excusing that. But the problem has been exacerbated by a dysfunctional forward structure. An issue that's not just confined to 2019

Only saw the highlights but it sounds like it would have been both a fun & frustrating watch. There's a bit of Alex Smith about Jimmy G at the moment. Nothing wrong with that but it will be interesting to see if he can elevate himself to the top echelon of QB's. Jury is still out as despite seemingly having been around forever, he's still relatively inexperienced. Haven't been carried away with the 8-0 start. There's been a bit of "dancing with your sister" about the '49ers so far. The Seahawks were just the start. The real season starts against your mob. That game has been moved to SNF. Anyway, Bills, Pats & Chiefs this week

Not having his go-to guy would have made a difference. George Kittle is becoming to Jimmy G what Gronk was to Brady
  10. I haven't moved from Young & Kemp but note there is a lot of noise around Jackson & Pickett. Just on Jackson, I see a giant sized midfielder rather than an out & out ruck. If that's what the club thinks we need then so be it but I'm skeptical. I've seen nor read nothing in his short exposed history that indicates he would readily become a forward. And that kicking is a concern. On Pickett, yeah he looks to have some nice tricks but his best output has been at SANFL Reserves level. Reserves ! There are suburban comps in Melbourne who's top divisions are a better standard than SANFL reserves. Would have liked to have seen more in the SANFL firsts or the nat champs. Again, skeptical
  11. I get that. For me it was always about the horses. Love the bloody things. Betting, even racing was an extension of that. Still is. Back when I was a punter I resisted the temptation to get a phone account. I figured if I really wanted to back something I'd get off my arze and head to the tote. If I couldn't do that I shouldn't be betting on it. The worst year I had was when I was working in a building with a TAB on the ground floor. Pretty much bet every lunchtime. Betting from boredom. So I figured I knew what would happen if I got a phone account. As I told Macca, I haven't bet in years but that's more a CBF thing. I've got no objection to anyone punting. Started betting with my old man when I was 7 years old. But if I got me an online betting account, I know I'd be betting without conviction again. You gotta do the form & bet according to your analysis. You're backing yourself as much as the horses. I watch my daughter's mates, beer in one hand, phones in the other betting on dumb stuff like next goal kicker in a footy game. Come quarter time they've blown forty bucks just by clicking a button. I shake me head. That's not punting, it's donating
  12. I doubt anyone is assessing Hannan on 2019, He barely played. But in the two years previous he did go missing for large chunks of games. That's one of his challenges in 2020 - to be involved in games for longer & to contribute even when he's not getting the pill.
  13. Any danger of Harley Bennell getting a mention in his thread ?

49ers Packers Cowboys I think it's the first time I haven't tipped the Pats but it seems their offence is going backwards & is a chance to be exposed
  20. Old mate K-Dog was on this back in August. Has a 4 post, 1 issue contribution to Demonland. Reckon I'll watch any future contributions with interest
  21. I'm surprised his name alone doesn't give you the horrors old dee. Your series of Jamie Bennell posts were classics !
  22. McCartin aims for 2021 return Good luck young fella
  23. Probably haven't had a bet for 10 years Macca. Only do the form on odd occasions e.g. one of my daughters went to Derby Day a couple of years ago. If she'd followed instructions properly she'd have had a big day but she failed to make the distinction between straight out and each way. I think I got 4 up for the day so she came home with a decent profit & the basis of a thumping hangover. Still love my horses though & still follow them. Can happily watch horse racing from anywhere & enjoy it. Channel 78 gets a decent run at my joint. Used to love a punt and had shares in a few horses back in the pre-kids days. After that my disposable income was disposed of before I got it !
  24. Sunday Silence is the one you’re thinking of Macca. Won 2 legs of the ’89 Triple Crown before going down narrowly to Easy Goer in the Belmont. YouTube it – it’s one of the great home straight duels, reminiscent of Bonecrusher v Our Waverley Star. He sired some absolute crackers in Japan including Deep Impact, Manhattan CafĂ©, Zenno Rob Roy & Heart’s Cry to name a few. Heart’s Cry sired Saturday’s Cox Plate winner Lys Gracieux and the ill-dated Caulfield Cup winner Admire Rakti. As a sire of sires Sunday Silence has had a profound influence on Japanese racing. I think it was Arrowfield who sent mares to him in Japan a while back. Sunday Joy was the result of one mating. She went on win an AJC Oaks. Can’t recall what became of the others. The Japanese are mad for Arc winners. I think winning that is their Holy Grail. Tony Bin, Helissio, Workforce & Carnegie are a few of the Arc winners they’ve imported to stand at stud. Their “Triple Crown” races go from 2000 metres to 2400 metres with the third leg at 3000 metres and they breed accordingly. We on the other hand have an industry which has spent the last 50 years trying to win a Golden Slipper. We’ve managed to produce the odd champion middle distance horse – Winx, So You Think etc but when you see veterans like Hartnell (imported) and Black Heart Bart still competitive on our WFA races, it’s a damning indictment on the depth of our ranks above 1200 metres
  25. Tasmanian Mick Reynolds (#46) occupied the back pocket for a while, Great hands, bung knees Tony "Spud" Dullard was another back pocket, minding the resting ruckman. Also had great hands. I think it was Bobby Skilton who said he'd have made a fantastic centre-half forward but they couldn't coax him out of first gear on the training track. Went on to play as a ruck for Williamstown. Bug unit. An old mate of mine played against him and said it was like spending an afternoon repeatedly hurling yourself into a brick wall.
