Zac Williams
Decent player but to me he seems like one of those players that have a couple Of good years moves clubs on big $$ then doesn't live up to it.

Adam Saad
I'd do Harmes + Second rounder. I know Harmes isn't getting a game at the moment but as we all know being played out of position. Essendon lack midfielders with a bit of grunt and dash. He would slot into their side an be a good performer

Grand Final Eve Public Holiday
Change it to the Monday going to be a few sore heads after the Cox plate ,GF double. I sense the many of Dan's rules will be broken on that day/night

Ruthlessness MFC Style!
I first thought of Neale Daniher when Goody trotted out this line. I distinctly remember him saying we need to be ruthless during a preseason interview on what was probably off the back of one of our yo-yo down years. Daniher has managed to rally the whole AFL communiy and the nation around is cause due to his grit and fight but unfortunately even under him we were not able to be ruthless , consistent and where always up and down. Even in probably the most "ruthless" culture era, which In my time was John Northey we underperformed in 88,89 and 90 during the H&A season.

Gary Pert on The Deebrief
I think the idea that when we play our best , we can beat anyone is our single biggest problem with our players, coaches and club. This is why we go in to games we "should" win because we think our best can get it done. i would suggest our analysis and time spent on opposition is less on these games we should win. You see when we go into a game we know will be tough we are much more switched on and . But our best will get it done is also a problem in these games because we are always trying to play our "best " brand which opposition generally know how to counter. Good teams don't allow Melbourne to play at it's ""best" and we fail to adapt in game , why because we believe once we start playing our best we will get on top and come back so we don't try anything ingame until it's too late. It is the inflexibility of our thinking of thinking our best is good enough that hurts this club more than anything.

Oh, the irony
While I don't blame him for the postpone game I think it has had an effect on us an Essendon not having a break at all during the hub fixtures. Our Bye came after only one game back 3 months ago.
