Grundy out jvr in, all the talk will be about a "failed" experiment. I'm still glad we have Grundy at the club and he still might be best 22 by end of the year. I'm glad the footy department are having a look at different combinations. I look forward to seeing what BBB and JVR look like together.

I used to care about this stuff when we where perennial cellar dwellers. It was a sign of hope and that we had a bright future. Couldn't care less now, sure it's recognition of a good game by a young player but I would bet Mcvee is stoked being a regular in a top 4 team and a rising star nom is not a concern for him. Jordan gysberts got 2 noms & Lewis Taylor won the award so it's a bit of a nothing

Agree VFL intensity is easy off AFL. I was trying to make a point that dropping jvr to the VFL isn't because he is being tested and that at his age and stage of development and his attitude would be exerting just as much energy.

No doubt players can be managed in the VFL. Just don't think jvr is and he would be working just as hard as he would in the AFL on worse grounds

VFL isn't a rest and a 20 year old with jvr's attitude and work ethic dosent know how to not go 100% in a game of footy. In many ways VFL can be more taxing on the body

Why have 2 genuine two forwards when you can have one and a resting ruckman who hasn't played forward his whole career and another who can't kick straight and get in the way of the genuine forwards
