You have missed the point. The character issue has nothing to do with leaving and taking the money, but rather the lying about any offer being made. Most don't blame him for grabbing the cash, he just as I have said a few times, didn't need to lie.

What I was trying to get at was, that if you are really interested in a kid, why tell the whole world?

Usually when a club says they are interested in a player they don't take him.
