  1. Well some real optimism. Hope you are right.
  2. I cannot see that happening.
  3. Players agree to go to wherever drafted for the initial period, and that is to make the draft workable. Then a few years later on, the player commits to a club, buys a house, puts his kids in school or whatever and can then be told a little while later, you are playing across the other side of the country, without friends and family support and lump it or leave it. There are other people involved in these deals, not just the player, but often family as well. Won't happen.
  4. Has it stopped raining in the Alice yet?
  5. I am not sure it will. Seems rather dishonest. A player signs to play somewhere and is then shipped off without his consent. Open to manipulation too, as deals could be done to force a player to a club, by dealing with a club to sign him and then ship him out. Can’t see the player’s agreeing to this change.
  6. Get the bucket ready.
  7. Presume someone raised that we have players coming in the next three years. MFCSS!
  8. Now you know one of the reasons I started it, when I was but a mere lad, standing on Uncle Bitter's empty wine casks, to make myself look taller.
  9. Both men lived their lives around football.
  10. I just threw up in my mouth.
  11. Rumoured mud heap is not where you play BBB, coming off a knee injury.
  12. The happy, Choco getting AFL Hall of Fame recognition. Congratulations and well deserved. The sad, the passing of Matt Rendell, a nice guy that I met a few times, a very good footballer, coach and recruiter. Sincere condolences to family and friends. RIP Bundy.
  13. He has been playing well for a few weeks and if we want him and he wants us and especially good mate Kozzie, he will be a Demon.
  14. He actually preferred the usual nickname.
  15. There was a Solicitor I knew called Richard Pulling.
  16. Still in Melbourne and my post stands.
  17. How do hamstrings perform in snow or mud?
  18. Well, if we put it on the membership to attend the game at the G, in order to end the Alice games, I wonder what the nett figures might end up as, after deducting all costs not covered in that $500K. If it was say $200k difference, you then factor in the inconvenience of travel and other associated factors and compare that to a true home game, in front of your fans. You might even sell a lot of those 3 game memberships, on the back of another home game at the G. With 65000 members, we are surely now in a position to not need the Alice money like previously and could repay the members with another game to attend. We already travel interstate as much as any Victorian team and more than a lot of others and also have our annual Kitty Litter game, where the members can't get in. Worse, this year it was played on thursday night, creating just another way to stuff up families from attending. As an idea, you could abandon the Alice game, get another one at the G instead and put the price up on membership by $5.00 for Victorian MFC members. That could result in about $350k from the $5 increase, plus the revenue of the G game and you would be ahead on the venture, without travel etc. This would give the Victorian members another game to attend and ensure it was a real home game, with the possibility of even a free kick in our forward 50 for a change, if the crowd could yell loud enough.
  19. Well, the weekend finished like thursday night was for me. Went back to the restaurant where I had the Bundaberg Sarsparilla, ordered one and to my dismay, they had sold out. Diet Coke is just not the same. The way I am going, I could go to a chinese restaurant and find out they are out of banana fritters.
  20. Compare the forwards. Tex, Fogarty, Thilthorpe, Rachelle, Rankin and Pedlar. Fritta, JVR, Smith, Kozzie, Spargo and ANB. There is another reason for us to worry.
  21. I know that’s why I referred to large one sided crowds, wherever played.
  22. That’s what I said, the large one sided crowd affects umpires. Where was the game played when the Crows got the umpiring? Adelaide.
  23. I will suggest something that doesn’t suck. We play Pies in first final and win and Port also wins, meaning we could make a GF playing all games at the G and one of, if not both of Pies and Port miss the GF.
  24. Matthew Nicks would be proud and filthy at the same time. It’s not coincidence that certain clubs get an armchair umpiring ride constantly. I will never believe that, the evidence is overwhelming, it’s not rub of the green or a one off, it is blatantly constant. The reason is most likely to do with the large one sided crowd.
