  1. The tigers were happy to see the back of him as well. Wouldnt help out with anything other than what he deemed "his job".

Acted aloof to committee and families who would help at mailouts etc..

    Luckily they now have Miller...

Now that Jimma has openly criticised the appointment of McNamee, it looks like CC's little mate is timing his run.

Other than that he could join the whiteshoe brigade on the Gold coast. Cant see him going to Western Sydney.

  2. Correct and Trav can't really talk because, with all of their glorious facilities, a champion CHF, some brilliant on ball talent and 2 out of 3 games on their home turf without yet having played against the apparent top three teams in the competition, his own side is sitting with a 1/2 record at the moment.

I cant talk either because I am still transfixed by watching TJ stick the ball down a champion CHF's throat last week.

It seems to have stuck in my gullet.

It looked like he was told to kick it to Browny and thats all he did.

he dont know much about science books....

  3. I cannot believe Garland is in the team after last week. The only explanation is that we are already tanking but that is ridiculous. What is the point of playing someone who so out of his depth? I'm not big on bagging our players but I have never seen a fringe player play such an atrocious game and get picked again the following week. Garland isn't even our best youngster in his position (frawley). Just staggering. I'd be very interested to know how they justify this, as well as dropping Moloney and Buckley (who I can kind of understand but certainly don't support his omission). I simply don't understand what the coaching staff are trying to do. Incredibly frustrating.

I couldnt have put it better myself.

  4. Well, I was born in December 1961 so I was 2 when we won in 1964.

Just like I was there with those other three billion people who said they were at Woodstock, ten million people who said they were at Sunbury and one hundred thousand people who said they saw the Stones play an unadvertised gig at the Corner sometime in the early nineties. Or was it the late eighties?

It was Mick Jagger without the stones. Must have been around 1996. My brother got tickets from a (mutual) mate at Sony. They told me about it later... said I really missed it.

He played all the old hits. bastards.

  5. I agree with YM.

We are 3 decent KPP and a fast midfielder (yes a fair whack) away from being a good side.

It is the Colins and Greeny's that will come good at that point, but arent good enough to lift what is around them at present.

I believe they would star at Adelaide.

One beacon of light is that we will be under the salary cap by a fair way, and have a lot of draft picks.

If we can find some one in our department to do a good deal, we may seduce a star or two from an interstate club.

We have the satellites but not the stars, we cant seem to grow our own so we should trade hard for them.

I would like to think that CC is our man, if he cant do it... etc.

  6. What`s John Northey doin these days . Get him back ! Turned a team of no names into a force to be reckoned with!

Most of those no-names were picked and groomed by Slug Jordon under Ron Barassi's watch.

They had come straight out of winning under 19 and then Reserve premierships.

Plus the draft kicked in and we had Stretch, Spalding and Warren Dean arrive.

Nothing against Northey but Bailey isnt walking into a team full of up and comers.

  7. In the seventies there was Robbie and Later A.Johnson to watch.

In the Eighties there was Healy and Jacko and some great juniors coming through the under 19's and Ressies.

It was always worth getting to the game at 12.00 to watch the last half of the Reserves.

There was always something to hang your hat on.

Now there is no silver lining.

Our President who flies in for quite a few games, bless him, tells us to be more supportive.

He will be back in first class by now. I dont know what to make of that.

We just have to stick with it.

  8. What qualifies as good?

Is being in the top ten of a team to probably finish outside of the eight good?

I think it does and I think Miller should come good this year.

It has taken a while, if it does happen but at pick 55 I think he is better value than two players who dont cop the same derision and went much higher in the draft and have been around as long or longer.

    Wheatley.Bell.

  9. As long as Paul Gardner is the MFC chairman I will support him.

Does Paul Gardner live here or in Sydney? I was told by someone close to the board that the perception is that he now resides in Sydney. Anybody else heard this?

  10. Franky, it did come across badly but I wasn't trying to have a go at you.

Fair enough, Im touchy through being the butt from too many anti-demon jokes.

I honestly believe that when Jones and Valenti played together at Sandy (I saw three matches) that Valenti was as good.

    Sometimes markedly.

Jones has however improved more than any player Ive watched since Rivers. Others seem to be shooting stars.

For pure nugget courage there has to be a place for him. But I am a Simon Godfrey fan and as such can only go down a wishin and a swinging.

    cheers.

  11. Errrrr, so what you want is to bring in Holland, drop Wheatley and have a midfield of Jones, McLean, Moloney, McDonald and Valenti. Maybe we could stick Adam Fisher in there too.

You didn't see the game last week, did you? Remember the bit where we were completely run off our legs by Hawthorn to the tune of 104 points?

You then speak of the virtues of possibly the two quickest players in the game!!

Yes, there are many people screaming blue murder about the team at the moment. But forgive me if my time on the websites has caused me to not think highly of the opinions of 'passionate supporters'.

You seem to be pretty happy with your view of the game and want to pick the best footballer out of Wheatley, Holland Valenti and Maloney.

You say Fisher was [censored] but he was never given a chance. you say you play the game but I wonder if speed is your forte.

I saw the game from Barwon Heads, because it was northerly all day, not that you would have a clue what that means.

    Were you there? Nup.

But a smug expert as always.

  12. Of course it is insulting to miller if i say he deserves to play Sandy Reserves...but as far as my comments about Miller the fact that you guys are now saying the exact same things as I said 3 years ago is simply embarrassing for you guys and your knowledge about football. The biased nature of some demonlanders cloud their judgment of what constitutes a good player and what constitutes a bad one. And my analysis of miller has always been harsh, i'll admit that...but it's always been accurate and in-depth analysis with game-day examples were often used. Miller's tap to Akermanis in the goal square in 06 or 07 sums Miller up as a footballer. Ball was in the air, Miller was the only one standing underneath it. Being scared of any potential contact by jumping in the air, he decided to tap the ball and he did so.. straight to Aker near the goal square who sealed the match. After Miller had tapped it, he realised he was 20m free on either side and it showed his lack of awareness and over-rated sense of courage. I could provide 100000000 of these examples, but I do not feel like producing a novel or analysing errors...if I did, I would watch the under 14's werribee team.

I dont reckon you have ever played football at any real standard.

Anybody who denigrates a good ordinary footballer like that doesnt sound to me like he has any real dash.

  13. I see two of the emergencies coming in. Holland and Moloney.

If we are trying to win we need a solid body in the forward line whos likely to go frony and centre and take a mark.

And we need to keep one of the only players we've got who can keep up with them.

I see someone not making it from the forward line out of Robbo, Neiter or Newton.

There are a whole shout of arguments for any of those to miss.

I have to asume we are trying to win rather than just get the sour taste of defeat mingled with pithy posts of how its going to plan yada yada yada....

Again Wheatley seems to be sacred.

From a perennial rovers point of view Im miffed (!) that Valenti isnt uploaded to help Jones.

And while Im on it (Annies Lane), does any notice how Tadgh kennealy looks like this years model of Chris Judd?

  14. Apparentlly the Olympic Precinct Training Facility has not been signed off yet. So maybe Casey is the answer. Ime not trying to be a smart ass here. We are almost stuffed and i didn't realize how bad until this morning.

The League don't want 18 Teams if they can get around it, and at the moment we are the Nomadic club.

The tigers will have both Punt Road and an outpost out past Broadmeadows as well.

  15. Ten showed the interview with Bailey.

They are adamant Moloney was dropped not injured.

I was actually surprised he didnt drop his head last week and he played better than I gave him credit. But it is all relative!

I still dont rate him as a real loss because he is easy to coach against, but my belief is that he will still play.

Im still getting used to expecting nothing from the full forward.

Dont forget we had nearly the same amount of inside 50's as hawthorn.

Yes it does depend on the quality of the input, but it is definitely the forward line, and the dearth of any silver linings that has me worried the most.

I would rather Robbo be given enough rope than have to watch someone swing in the breeze.

  16. It started on a Friday, I gave them until Tuesday to tell me the revised date, then started calling them every second day. 'The Run Home" producer has called me back a few times to tell me it will happen and tell me new dates that have passed by. Francis Leach even answered the phone one time and told me it would be no worries and that we will sort it out. Yeah right.

I trust Francis Leach. He has integrity.

i also think you should wait until another regular poster gets a chance to read your plight.

    Stick with it.
