I agree with the mids philosophy for this draft.
Out of Langford, Smillie and Lalor I like Lalor based on admittedly scant viewing. I just like the way he moves, makes decisions and his speed looks good. A nice size at 187cm also.
So I keep coming back to Lalor. Others may prefer Murphy and the elusive skinnier types, who'll bulk up in time.
He may be a bit one sided.

With Josh battle probably leaving and saints getting a 1st round pick, we need the saints to win. It's worth 2 spots for us.

Max king would help all the other forwards. Fritts jvrs roles would alter and they'd get lesser Backmen. Chin/spargs are no papley but an upgrade wouldn't be as dramatic as max king.

I'm still getting over jaded making 20+ pies supporters tossed out. BOG.

My guess(why not, join the crowd) is that goody said look you're upset, don't comment just do you're own thing till end of season. He is doing that. Now that so much drama has developed over that, the club and/or tracc will make a statement when they believe it works for them. Maybe after a win tomorrow. It's not a molehill, neither is it a mountain.

Play the kids. Look forward to the draft.

I was surprised and dismayed at the Aussie swimmers taunting the US team. I thought it was uncalled for. Yanks are often weird but unerringly polite. It was talking the talk.

Petty is the best replacement for Max's key strength - down the line marking target. He's the next best contested mark we have and was just hitting form in this area against Brisbane when he took 5 contested marks - a very high number. So I'm very happy to see him selected.
But he doesn't have to ruck to provide that target and he didn’t against Brisbane, he can play high forward and get up the ground to do it, while JVR, Fritsch and Melksham play deeper.
I agree with the above and am happy that the team that has been performing well for the last few weeks is not changed too much.
I also think that if it is dry we just may see a late change from Goody which is unusual for him, but is what Brad Scott often has pulled. Id like to see Tom Mac, Disco as well as JVR and Harry pitch in. Im hoping for the same intensity we have seen lately to be on show again. Hoping to see a cohesive forward line with Petty in there again.

The pies at the MCG are fresh. They taste better than from almost any other source. I look forward to having one and although they may be only warm occassionally they taste great. Yes I used to be a Pie-Boy.

I could see the rivalry alive between Clarko and Dimma. I didnt mind Harwick saying what he did. Better than getting learning in my view.

Probably the same fool that invented ties - which I hate with a passion
At least in AFL you dont need to work out which is left and right in Ties. Well, not until the Tassie team gets up.

Yeah, Jake was pick 21, which was first round that year. The pick slid due to academy access.
Bowey is one of my favourites so I am biased, but I'd do the deal if it meant King coming our way. Otherwise, nope.
Im a little disappointed in Jake as he was a local legend under-age. Id like to see him further up the ground before giving up hope. Quite possbly could blossom as Toby Bedford did at Giants. Hope it is for us but Max King wont come easy.

No Jake was #21 in that draft IIRC.
Id do that deal myself If we finish mid-range. Not if we finish bottom 5. I also think it would be tempting to the Saints.
And did you mean "Former"?

New intel?
No. It probably wasnt worth mentioning. Just a bunch of mates that are all high paying members and devoted/desperate. They know/knew some of the FD and "always" know whats coming to the Saints. For 10 years they told me Rory Sloane was "Next Year" and then it was Amon "Next year". Not a good track record.

1st pick and Bowey. Saints now want Bowey.

The longer Melks is out the better he is, it seems. Starting to remind me of the whining when we believed Junior had lost too much pace and let him go. It was the right decision in hindsight, but the moaning was significant.
I hope Melks can come back for a couple of games but if he can replicate any earlier highlights, I will be happy to be wrong.

Not sure where you get this SPC? Choko famously swept Princess Diana around the dance floor on her honeymoon tour of Australia. Well known as pretty good on his feet.

Allow me (probably not the first) to say that we should treasure next years first round draft pick. Too many here believe it wont be an early one. Im thinking it could be.
