Allen gone to the Bears, 4 years (really 3) is steep for a D lineman of his age.

It is really tough for the Western teams this year as they seem to be so much better than the majority of the Eastern teams. THis makes it tough for one of the top Western teams who will be eliminated int he first round but that's playoffs. The Avs best chance would be facing the Hawks I think, they have beaten them the last 2 or 3 times they have played and looked really good matching up against them. It has been a good year but I am really expecting things to progress over the next 1 to 2 years for the AVs where they will be able to sustain a full season and playoff run as they mature.

Broncos going large on the D front. Will it make the difference?! Ware in the house now too. 3 big signings.

Another one I've just watched is Generation War. 3 part German series about 5 friends from Berlin in World War 2. Found it fascinating, could have gone on for 1 more ep as there is just so much to tell. Gripping on what people had to do to survive.

Not heard of it DA, will have to have a look for it. Started watching Rectify last Thus nights on SBS. Aden Young (look out for Metal Skin and old 90's movie. Very dark) is a guy who comes off death row, escaping the death penalty on a technicality. it is about him trying to assimilate back into a society that has changed in 15 years he has been in jail and a community with people wanting to hurt him, people totally unsure and a family scared by the experience to date.

Watched Sarah's Keyast weekend... French flick of a lady who learns some things about her family apartment during WW2 and the people who used to live there and what happened to them. Gut wrenching. House of Cards the Netflix series with Kevin Spacey is on the go at present. Interesting series about politics in Washington. Has its moments, I get horrified of what people are capable of doing for themselves rather than the people who elected them and the pressures applied by lobbiest, interest groups and these so called not for profit organisations.

Flower gone now KP has been told he will never, ever be selected for any England team again... Total and utter devestation dealt to the Poms in the tour down under this summer... loved it!!!

Well now the NFL is over time to concentrate back on the hockey. Avs still hanging around and all but assured of a play off spot. How much damage they can do is a different story. Plenty of goals has been the theme of the season to date, plenty for and plenty against. While Varlamov looks like a top line met minder the rest of the D lets him get to many looks at a puck. We can score plenty on our night but look to still be a year or two from serious contention. Here is hoping the rest of the season is fun and we can maybe get close to a first round play off win that would show some real development.

Obviously haven't seem the end of the thread and missed the sad news. It is such a horrible disease and what it does to people and their families. Having recently seen someone else go through it and had major issues with health professionals I can understand Twos frustrations with the health systems and then the optimism and hope of the maybe they will get through. RIP Two sheds, my old Dad (who was a mad Dees man), my wife's mum and dad.

Macca just nervous, I know Peyton has had a good season but I just keep thinking the schedule was soft and the Hawks are number 1 on D. In saying that the Hawks schedule hasn't been that tough either but they beat the 9's (even if they were sore) who have a decent offense. CBH I think you may be correct, as I. The best running game will get over the top. The mode has been ok without being outstanding of late and the Moreno and co have been the same. If one of those can break out it will decide it... Arrow that is the thing in virtually every sport you will see, when it is best D vs best O the best D tends to win. In saying that we have only come up against 1 good defence in the Chiefs, we did beat the Chiefs twice this year .... But our D in the 3 losses this season have allowed 27, 34 and 39 points, that is my worry along with the Hawks D being so good physically and being able to break up passes. Do the Hawks have enough offence to match Peyton? Can Harvin make a difference, he looked good in his limited game time 2 weeks ago.... Good luck Arrow. As a Broncs fan I'm very worried about the Hawks D. I just have a feeling there pressure on the recievers might be a little too much for us. I know Manning is so clinical especially after coming out after half time but he doesn't have the zip he once did and I just don't know if he can work the number 1 defence enough. If we can get more yards on the ground than Beast Mode can we are in with a shot. Another telling point will be Harvin. If Harvin can come back and play then Hawks have a huge boost in the passing game that opens up running lanes.

At least you know Torts has your back as the coach. Here is hoping Flames win in OT on a poor call just so we can see an amazing press conference. It will be his last for a few games...

Flames v Canucks, 2 seconds into the game a full line brawl. Canucks coach going nuts, tries to get into the other teams liner room during the first period break. Nuts. I don't get the fighting in hockey, it doesn't make sense to me...
