As a social experiment, I decided today to wear an "I Love Collingwood" t-shirt for a week. So far I've been spat on, verbally abused, punched and had a bottle thrown at me. I'm curious as to what might happen when I leave the house.

That's a fair question. I think it's because sport is more visceral. We want to see our tribe slay the other tribe. We want victory. I'd much rather a "boring" win than an "entertaining" loss. Winning is everything.
