Tom Scully in September ...

Footy Classified will be interesting. I really want to see Garry come out firing then give us some positive news on the coach front. -

Potentially a great player who in his time never really showed a great passion for the club. The MFC have been shafted however need to use it as motivation going into preseason and then when we run into GWS next year, show Tom $cully what he is missing out on. Even though it is disappointing, I'm in the camp of thinking we may have dodged a bullet. It's more the thought that a player would shaft the club that hurts. -
If he does join the dees, we may win a game at etihad.

Mitch Clark has asked to be traded and although Fremantle are favourites, according to "deepthroat" on twitter, the Dees and Bulldogs are circling. Would take something huge to land him and I don't know if he would be worth the outlay.
-
Bugger White. Go get Gary Rohan. Absolute excitement machine and potential game breaker.
-
I would think Stevie J would be on the receiving end of a massive bake from his coach. Failed to take the first option repeatedly and always looked to do the impossible. He wanted to create his own highlight reel. He was lucky Hawthorn were shot ducks and didn't have the manpower to capitalise on his errors.
-
Terrible shame not only for Hawthorn but also for the game in general. I was at the game tonight and he was playing well however he is increasingly becoming a show pony. I would still love him at the team he barracked for as a kid.

On league teams last night, Liam Pickering mentioned that both Richmond and Melbourne are chasing the services of Neil Craig as a high performance manager and/or possibly a support person for a new coach. Richmond had offered him a 3 year deal. Be interesting to see how it pans out. He could play the mark thompson role for someone like a Scott Burns.

Agree 100%. Get it over and done with and move on and remind ourselves of all the other great kids we have representing this great club. -
Bomber Thompson or if untried is the go, Gavin Brown.
-
Sam Blease or John Butcher from the Dees. Swallow from the Suns is going to be unbelievable.
-
Another positive. Gary Ablett is having little impact on the game so far. Bartram is playing well.
-
This is the quietest crowd I have ever witnessed. Quite eery.
-
9 to 18 inside 50's gold coasts way for the second quarter. That's bloody disgraceful.
-
I'm at the game and Col Garland is having a shocker. Indecisive, doesn't want to kick the ball. Tom McDonald is doing well as is Sam Blease. I fear however the game may have passed Brad Green. Looks slow and has dropped a few marks. Gold coast are troubling us with their speed and work around the ball. Everyone around me is suggesting that Melbourne should start roving the ball. Hopefully we come out breathing fire in the second half.

This article was touched on by Caroline Wilson of FC tonight. Interesting to see he isn't contracted after this season. Green on the Outer I think giving the captaincy to someone else next year may take some pressure off him and hopefully he can get back to playing consistent footy. James Frawley gets my vote for captain 2012 and onwards.

Not sure if this has been posted however the ever full-of-it Mike Sheahan has written an article in tomorrow's HS. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/why-melbourne-should-get-ross-lyon/story-fn7shz1t-1226119956758 Would be a good get.

Even though they are mates, it will have little bearing on his decision, plus the guys you listed were drafted to different clubs. They didn't leave on their own accord. Scully will stay the fact his mate is Sammy, will have minimal influence on his decision.

Eade won't be coaching the Dogs next year
Heart Beats True replied to Real Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Solid coach with a fairy mediocre side. The interesting point is that he did his apprenticeship under the guidance of one Dennis Pagan at North. Now that would make for an interesting duo at the dees next year. If Malthouse isn't available, then Eade now sits as the next best for me. -
Leon Cameron will coach the Dogs.

Love the tweet for Tappy. DeeBull35 Luke Tapscott Glad to be able to sign another 3 years with the DEES!! unfortunate on rookies wage tho with @jtren9 signing 4 years. Great news.

Some good news on the horizon it seems. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/as-melbourne-backers-walk-out-a-major-sponsor-walks-in/story-e6frf9jf-1226107708999 Interestingly the article again refers to Schwab and issues with current sponsors.

Coaching suggestion- out of left field
Heart Beats True replied to tallstuey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mark "Bomber" Thompson (although wishful thinking) would be perfect for us. Has the credentials and the runs on the board. -
One a little out of left field however someone who has developed and built a successful premiership side and is still current ......... Mark Thompson. He would be a perfect fit for the Dees. It would take an a lot of money and brilliant sales pitch however he shouldn't be overlooked or dismissed.

If you listen to the crap over on BF, apparently Neil Craig has been called today and Gavin Brown's odds have shortened dramatically. Furthermore, Robbo just tweeted that Mark Williams is interested. I heard somewhere recently that his family are not keen living in NSW and want to return to VIC. I can't blame them.
