  1. Great humility shown by Kate in accepting our Premiership Flag. We should be very proud of the the people who currently run our great Club!
  2. Having endured all the pain, l thought re-living some of it through the documentary was important, to provide context for just how momentous 2021 was in the history of our great Club, and our supporters old and new. My eyes were stinging with tears for much of it, as I rode a ‘roller coaster’ of contrasting emotions: from the joy of 1964 to Norm’s ill-considered sacking a few months later; from the ‘poetry’ of Robbie, to heartache in the knowledge that he is no longer with us; from the despair of the potential merger, to the elation when it didn’t proceed; to the unforgettable journey, and ultimate tragedy of Jimmy’s story; ………… and then to the trepidation, followed unadulterated joy of September 2021. Outstanding doco imo. Never to be deleted!
  3. 5. D.Pearce 4. Hanks 3. Mithen 2. West 1. L.Pearce Gee that was a tough exercise. I could have almost doubled the size of the list, and a few would have still been unlucky to miss out. Great signs at the business end of the season!
  4. Gone tonight were the one metre ‘get me out of trouble’ hand passes. In tonight we’re precision hand passes to a team mate in better position. Brilliant!
  5. Best performance I’ve ever seen from any AFLW team! I so much want us to be AFL and AFLW champions, and this is becoming real possibility. It seems to be coming together at the pointy end of the season for our AFLW team, just as it did for our men in 2021.
  6. Coming together beautifully! Keep the pressure on girls.
  7. That's the most polished half of football that I've ever seen from our AFLW team. Keep it up girls!
  8. Sloppy, and quite a few in the wrong head-space. Things to work on, but that comes from being the 'hunted'.
  9. Outstanding initiative by our Club. Eyes quite moist when I found our names. Somehow makes all the years of pain worthwhile.
  10. IIRC, Kate Roffey did mention something along the lines that Covid meant that the Meeting could not be held ‘in person’, which I thought was slightly odd at the time. As an interstate member, I was more than happy that the Meeting was conducted via Zoom. More inclusive of the wider membership.
  11. Nothing of substance mate.
  12. My key takes: Ballot: No change to Board composition Strong position on and off the field, including financials Tracking very well against Strategic Plan, but can’t rest on laurels Emphatic support for Goodwin
  13. Well, I'm 'Proud to Belong"
  14. Daisy has been a Dee since before the inception of the AFLW. I have no problems at all with her broadening her horizons and experience at another club, should she choose to do so. Should that occur, I reckon that there’s a strong possibility that she’d return to the fold one day, either as senior AFLW coach, or with a very significant role at Casey Demons, or our AFL team.
  15. One of the most physical AFLW games I can recall. Our defence and the coach's bench were the difference imo. We 'gutsed' it out well, and the girls seem to have inherited a dash of 'never say die' attitude from our men.
  16. With both teams on equal points, a win is very important for our finals prospects. If we play like we did in the first half against Brisbane, there’s every chance we will lose. If we can maintain our form the second half, we will win comfortably. Tayla Harris might be the difference. I’m backing the latter scenario. Dees by 3 goals.
  17. I agree with all that bin, but I reckon a comparison with the late and great Sean Wight is even more valid, including the Gaelic footy connection.
  18. Tayla Harris, just wow! Right up there with the most influential game I’ve s seen from any player in the AFLW.
  19. Really looking forward to seeing what the two Demon debutants can bring to the team. With such a short AFLW season, a win is very important, and this game presents as a great opportunity to stamp our credentials as genuine contenders. Go Dees.
  20. Wow! I’d forgotten how much magic Liam Jurrah produced in his short career! Unbelievable raw talent!
  21. I’m concerned that Goody was part of the group, and is only missing from the photo because he just stepped out to purchase a group lotto ticket.
  22. Schwarta in his prime was ahead of Carey at his best imo, but I’d still go for Robbie ……. true ‘poetry in motion’.
  23. Really looking forward to your synopsis, as usual ‘fence’, ………… and isn’t it mind boggling that they are welcoming crowds to a practice match at Casey, but Covid demands that regular track-watchers like your good self, have to tangle with tiger snakes, while seeking a suitable vantage point to peek through a wire(?) fence at regular training sessions.
  24. Mostly BS, based on flawed logic, or no logic at all! But. who cares, we are the reigning Premiers.
