  1. I voted no. Chip has fewer claims than Trenners imo.
  2. Hard to imagine a more impressive interview. I know talk is cheap, but if our new coach turns out to be half as good as he sounds, we are on the money!
  3. When Melbourne's on-field performance shows evidence that it is well on the way to matching my signature.
  4. I'm sure he was talking to Malthouse as a 'referee' for our new coach.
  5. Deelighted with our choices if that's the way they pan out. Onward and upward in 2012. Go Dees!
  6. .......... and what does that have to do with it?
  7. Of all the possibilities, that would probably be my preferred outcome.
  8. Unlikely that we will ever know the full story, but I agree that the dollars would be a huge part of the equation. On the other hand, Lyon is a self-professed career coach, and imo the strength of Freo's list would have been a critical part of his consideration.
  9. Freo's list is better / more advanced than ours.
  10. When I was at school (approx. 100 years ago) a grade of 'D' meant a fail. I wonder why I remember that so well? Anyway, I doubt that this is what our Club has in mind. 'Distinction' seems more appropriate. Edit: spelling
  11. Agree totally. Why would we sit on our hands for a whole year? Now is time to bite the bullet, if it's going to happen.
  12. Great post H. It's an important time for us all to have that attitude. I'll be doing the Christmas shopping over the next week or so ...... 2012 memberships for the whole family (as usual). They never end up with a 'surprise' under the Christmas tree, but I know the memberships are valued above anything else I could give.
  13. Nor me, or anyone else around here I suspect.
  14. That's a pretty good summary of our on-field season brfe, but what really cuts deep with me is the off-field shenanagins. I really thought we had built a rock-solid base for the long-term in this area, but sadly that has not been the case. I guess the positive side to this is that it's more easily fixed than a poor playing list.
  15. I agree. The second best thing, but even sweeter if it happens later in Seprember or early October.
  16. Definitely Froggy imo, but it surprised me a bit. I used to spend a fair bit of time in the change rooms way back then, and I never saw him smoking. On the other hand, I do recall that he and most of his team-mates loved to re-hydrate on a VB. Even in the 50's and 60's the importance of keeping the fluids up was regarded as paramount.
  17. Only two posts on this thread today, and 25 and climbing on the other one, so I thought I should do my bit to revive our flagging spirits with this little gem that I heard the other day: It seems that a new disease has been diagnosed in the US called 'Electile Dysfunction'. It's symtoms are the inability to become aroused over any of the potential Presidential candidates (Democrat or Republicans) for next year's election. A bit like the Dees 2011 season in a way ..... not a whole lot to get aroused about.
  18. Based on responses so far, Jack Hill the blind miner could see that the Dees will be the NBT!
  19. You'll give yourself a hernia (or worse), doing that Nash!
  20. I went for Martin in the end because of consistency over most of the season. Watts would be second on this basis, and I think Bail may have outstripped them both if his season hadn't been curtailed by injury. Trengove and Tapscott might also have attracted some votes if they had been included in the poll.
