You're not suggesting another father/son's on the way at the Bulldogs are you?
-
I watched that kid Papley play a few times last year as 23rd man for Casey and he was always smart and dynamic as a small forward who could be relied upon to kick a few goals. Where were our recruiters?

I'm tipping the Swans in this one.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Whispering_Jack replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't think Fremantle would be a likely preferred destination for Hogan if he's concerned with getting better as a key forward as his career unfolds. With Lyon as coach and master of defensive football, I can see Hogan getting frustrated with that style of play. If his body language is poor now, just imagine. -
I have stuck with the Sandringham Dragons through thick and thin, still believe they will produce the most top 20 recruits of all clubs in the draft and will be there at Etihad to support my boys home to the TAC Cup Premiership. He just keeps on coming up for discussion - AFL: Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff's road ahead unclear

Heard Christopher from Camberwell on SEN this morning. He called in after KB and Dr Turf were discussing the possible damage (or otherwise) to the MFC in the event of Jesse Hogan deciding to leave the club and go home to WA. Not sure where he was going with his call but they awarded him free tickets to some Thai lady boy show which he graciously declined.

I found these results from 2011 which, among other things, really brings home to me that our list at the time was quite ordinary, and how things have progressed since then. I hope that a further look back in five year's time doesn't reflect the same disappointment that I have in how things pan out:- 2011 Melbourne best and fairest results 1 - Brent Moloney (252 votes) 2 - Jared Rivers (221) 3 - James Frawley (193) 4 - Nathan Jones (186) 5 - Jack Trengove (184) 6 - Colin Garland (171) 7 - Mark Jamar (158) 8 - Stefan Martin (153) 9 - Jordie McKenzie Jack Watts (145) 11 - Colin Sylvia (143) 12 - Brad Green (132) 13 - Liam Jurrah (121) 14 - Clint Bartram (119) 15 - Jordan Gysberts (103) 16 - Ricky Petterd (102) 17 - Jamie Bennell (91) 18 - Jeremy Howe (85) 19 - Rohan Bail (76) 20 - Tom Scully (66) 21 - Joel Macdonald (63) 22 - Jack Grimes (53) 23 - Austin Wonaeamirri (46) 24 - Lynden Dunn (45) 25 - James Strauss (44) 26 - Aaron Davey (43) 27 - Luke Tapscott (40) 28 - Neville Jetta (39) 29 - Matthew Warnock (34) Sam Blease (34) 31 - Addam Maric (32) 32 - Daniel Nicholson (31) 33 - Matthew Bate (28) 34 - Cale Morton (26) 35 - Tom McDonald (18) 36 - Michael Evans (16) 37 - Max Gawn (5) 38 - Michael Newton (4) 39 - Jack Fitzpatrick (0) Tom McNamara (0) Did not play in 2011: Robert Campbell, Lucas Cook, Troy Davis, Cameron Johnston, Kelvin Lawrence, Jake Spencer

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
Whispering_Jack replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think we're going to have the answers on Joel Smith or Corey Maynard for a while yet. They need at least a full pre season if not more to get themselves into shape for the rigors of the AFL. Smith has shown that he has the basic skills and he's probably still not as advanced as say, Jayden Hunt was at this time last year. That said, Hunt had a very good pre season. -
Our skipper that day was 28 years old. This year, he turned 80. It's been a long wait. Too long.

I haven't suggested we're a destination club. Rather, that the destination is one of a number of factors involved when a player makes a decision to go to another club.
-
I reckon there might be an element of cash behind the factors persuading O'Meara about his choice of club too.
-
I would suspect that more than a few Hawthorn players will be on the trade table if they want to get O'Meara, Mitchell and Vickery.
