  1. Geelong's Shane Kersten is poised to return home to play for Fremantle.
  2. No. David Cordner's father was Ted Cordner, brother of Don, John and Dennis who all played for the Demons. Ted was a member of Melbourne's 1941 premiership team. Another member of the family played in a Demonland/Demonology Interforum team that I coached a few years ago. He was quite a good player but alas and apologies, I forget his first name. The Cordner family legend goes all the way back to 1905 when Ted Senior played a couple of games for Melbourne before joining the University club. He also had a brother and cousins who played for the club.
  3. Apology accepted but at some stage this thread will have to be moved across go the Women's League Forum because if we keep it in this section the other forum will never take off.
  4. My people will talk to their people. We'll work something out.
  5. It looks like he has good bloodlines as he's a cousin of Hawks' premiership player Luke Breust. Why not keep it in the family and make a play for both of them?
  6. Another player who won't be traded is Cam Pedersen - Pedersen set to remain at Melbourne
  7. If posters can't deal with this subject with some maturity and good sense, we'll have to close down the discussion altogether.

  9. So now we know what happened to Chilliboy.
  10. OK - that's enough for you two. The bulk of posters and the moderators are sick of the abuse and derailing of threads. There will be no more warnings. If you want to carry on your feud do it by PM or better still not at all. The next instance of this will see you guys out of here for 3 months minimum. And on that note, just in case, let me wish you a happy new year.
  11. Actually, there's a Hogan thread on the main board as part of our 2016 Season Review series. Hogan was first up because of his jumper number.
  12. I believe you were thinking of this little piece of magic but would you believe the name of the director?
  13. And today at Punt Road, it's the Under 17s game which obviously means a lot less in the short term to most of the football world. Top prospects on show in U17 Futures Game
  14. A report from AFL Draft Central U18 All Stars Ultimate Draft Review

  16. No doubt, their home game so they take advantage of the crowd receipts?
  17. If Hogan signs on for an extra two years we still need an in depth discussion on where he's going to play from 2020 onwards.
  18. Some great memories Maldonboy38. Loved the wire fence with the thin pieces of wood that was supposed to prevent the non payers from watching games from outside the ground. Problem was that there were so many gaps that you could get a good view anyway. The players rooms under the grandstand were something else. There was a no smoking sign up on the wall but if you went in at half time, there was a pall of smoke through the change rooms. Players, trainers, coaches etc. were all puffing away on their smokes. Another sign warned about the dangers of drinking alcohol and how bad it was for sportsmen to drink. Problem was nobody took any notice and a few of them were sipping away on an ale during the half time speech. No wonder they were such a lousy team in the early 60s. Of course the lighting in the room left a lot to be desired with the few light bulbs having the minimum wattage so you were blinded if you were in there before going out to bat. They were mainly good times.
  19. Trademark & Values? I think that's an award for lawyers.
  20. I understand that some people are considering handing out awards to other posters. Not a bad idea. Perhaps we can call the awards "Holidays"? Please stick to the topic and enough of the personal attacks, otherwise the new awards start kicking in immediately. Thanks for your co-operation.
  21. I normally don't do this but - https://www.change.org/p/afl-for-the-afl-to-reverse-their-decision-to-terminate-the-frankston-dolphins-vfl-license?recruiter=427014826&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
  22. The possibility exists that the club might have quietly secured an agreement with a free agent and, knowing that it would therefore not be entitled to compensation anyway as a result, cut ties immediately to give Grimes the best opportunity to find a new home.
  23. I had an interesting discussion with a Carlton supporter on Saturday. He was fairly assured that the Blues would be getting both Marchbank and Stewart and possibly even one more GWS player who isn't getting a regular game. I thought that getting one player who can't make the grade at another might sometimes be helpful but trying to build your side up around what are effectively 'rejects' was going over the top. That's where some clubs appear to be heading.
  24. No ... not Krakauer Senior but his late brother. I believe that Phil and Jimmy were named after whoever ran the station in the region of NW WA where their ancestors were born a couple of generations ago. That person probably came to Australia from Poland and possibly might have fathered a child or children by an indigenous woman. They are not related to the one I knew whose parents were survivors of the Holocaust. Krakauer Junior was great on Sunday but his role was limited. Two goals and a couple of assists in a premiership team is nothing to be sneezed at.
  25. Terry Wallace with his current top 20 list went with these players on AFL Future Stars*:- 1. Essendon - Hugh McCLUGGAGE (North Ballarat Rebels) 2.
