Footballers & footy journalists trying to do comedy is cringe!

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium

He has a crack. Physically he likes to get amongst it. Straight kicking could have seen him have a real confidence boosting game. Plays next week. -
Jeez, we expect a lot from Clarry based on these votes!
-
Kind to Harmes but 22 out of 23 ain't bad!
-
McVee looks a beauty. Moves like Ricky Petterd but looks a great kick!
-
6. Gawn 5. Petracca 4. Lever 3. Kozzie 2. Oliver 1. Tomlinson Apologies to BBB and Spargo.
-
Brayshaw having a Barry Crocker.
-
If Harmes is tagging Bont it ain't working. Grundy's hit outs are not really to advantage. Max bog. Kozzy dangerous. Lever good. Clarry, Langdon quiet. Nice goal by Tommy Sparrow.

Strange post. Is it up to Choco and Ooze to influence the coach? Do they get criticised when we lose too or just credit when we win? This week, apart from Hunter and Grundy, we have Laurie, McVee and Chandler as new blood. Add Bowey and Rivers who were not regulars last year and that's a third of the team? Enough?

Can't listen to Brian Taylor. Every kick is a ball. Long ball, short ball, chizzeliing ball, high ball, penetrating ball. Drives me crazy.

Interesting assessment. Fingers crossed 🤞. -
With Tomlinson he is very poor overhead. Struggles to read the flight. Good solid player when the ball hits the ground though. I just hope he doesn't get matched with Lobb who's only strength is contested marking.

Kind of wonder whether Jimmy Jordon will play, or at least be in the squad. If not, he really has been leap frogged.
-
So could we assume Fritta is right to go for Saturday? Assume Viney and Salem a week or two away?
-
Talk about drawing a long Bo!

You are right in a way. All the commentators base their conclusions/narrative on round one. It's all so black and white for them. Lose round one and look forward to a mini crisis. Win, and you can be early premiership favourites.

Having the mongrel is easier said than done....

Ed's an excellent writer. Has a real way with words. His analysis though can be summarised down to losing TMac as well as an inefficient ANB and Tracc. I'm not sure I agree. To me the speed and quality of the ball that came into the forwardline was the big difference in the second half of 2022. That Salem struggled and Bowey wasn't in form were factors. Also, Lever had an injury interrupted year and his lack of intercepting and rebounding was crucial. Somehow we got the ball into the forwardline but tended to sit it on top of BBB and Fritta's head.

The fact that this incoherent blabberer's ridiculous list is a talking point on every fan forum site in the country tells you everything you need to know about the newspapers motives for publishing it.

What was it like to lose a grand final 😀 But more seriously. Most ruckman have a history of knee injuries. I'm assuming one of the reasons is the clash of knees at centre bounces. Grundy has had a PCL and other knee ailments over his career. Does he or the club have prevention techniques to stop the scourge of knee injuries to ruckmen?

Sampson had played three quarters in the ressies!
-
Things I liked. Junior Woey showed a bit. May, best player in the comp. Six goals between the ruckmen. McVee looks a likely type. Hunter's left foot. ANB wracking up the kms. Dislikes. Kicking at goal (Chandler, BBB, etc) Petty letting Sampson get off the leash. Harmes' disposal. Trent Cotchin

James Brayshaw's Favourite Granny Since 2000

You're missing one bang here Orion. 😀 -
Bit of a strange selection if I can remember back. Based in his form as a bottom ager. Great evasion in congestion, creativity and pretty decent kick. Tested ok but not particularly quick. To me, he doesn't look rock hard fit like Bowey and others. As others have said, a strange body shape. Very bottom heavy. Coming into his third year he has time but needs to produce more games like the VFL game against Geelong last year where he went 30 (possessions) and 3 (goals).
