Outof interest, does anyone know aprox how far EPL players would run in a game?

    Ummmm! 😀

Between 8 and 12 km depending on the position they play. Average midfielder runs about 11km a game.

Maybe he doesn't identify as a proper noun.

Good point. Ummmm, maybe 'they' or 'them' doesn't identify as a proper noun?

And, for future reference, binman is not capitalised either.

Ummmm, being a proper noun it should be! 😀

I can’t remember a good player leaving Geelong. They know how to hold onto their players.

    Even Gazza came back!

Only Tim Kelly but Cats won that trade!

I'm with both of you. I've graduated to keeping the volume very low so I can still hear some crowd noise but it won't be long before I graduate to total silence.

The commentary is at gob****e levels. BT going on and on about the length of time Jordan Dawson was off the ground. If you ever need an example of how terrible this man is at calling a game, this is it.

As bad as Taylor is, (he is unbelievably bad) I was pleasantly surprised with Daisy Thomas and Selwood as special comments. Certainly an improvement on the likes of Ling and Hodge.

Next time we have a 5 day break, Goodwin needs to consider more players to rotate.  Chandler looked 50% but soldiered on. Billings could have been subbed out.  I think AMW or Tholstrup could have got the debut game tonight.

Thought Chandler was fantastic. His contested stuff brilliant. 7 tackles. Great goal from boundary. Gave him votes

Hugely improved player. Glad he was out there

I thought Billings played well. If he kicked straight he could have had 3 goals.

Or he missed three very gettable goals which puts the pressure back on us. A 3-4 goal buffer instead of a 6-7 goal buffer.

What stood out most though is Melbourne pride themselves on contest and defence. Billings provides none of that. His kicking and ball use against Hawthorn was good. They gave him space. In tight contested games like Port and this one, he doesn't want to know about it which is very un-Melbourne like.

  10. Two not so positive aspects. What's happened to JvR's marking? Hard hands tonight. Had the chance to mark four or five times 20 to 30 out. Bounced off his hands.

And Billings. Not convinced he likes the heat of battle and kicking was abysmal.

  11. Plenty to like. Chandler's goalkicking.

    Petracca's game.

    Petty competitive.

    McVee is such a gun.

    TMac playing his role.

    Kozzie making an impact.

Dislikes: Billings seems to hear footsteps.

    Howes seems overawed.

Three talls with Petty, JvR and BBB seems one too many.
