Where I think clubs might be missing a trick though, if they haven't been doing so already, is in scouring the hurling stocks. It's a dynamic, multi-skilled sport that I think translates well to the AFL.
Interesting idea Skuit, but kicking is such an important skill in Aussie Rules. Can't imagine even the best hurling player in Ireland learning to kick to an acceptable level.

Any chance that Mac Andrew is still on our radar?
Would love it. Starting to emerge as a real player.

If we want another flanker with dubious defensive skills, then maybe. If we're looking for a key forward he isn't one. Hates physical contact.

I’d like to add Steven Icke to the list of great recruits from other clubs.
Courage personified in a weak team.
I guess you’d have to add Peter Moore, though he didn’t shine in the above feature.
Brian Wilson, too, who helped get strong again in 1987.
Steven Icke and Anthony Ingerson were two that immediately came to mind in defence.

I couldn't of put it better myself. Here's a kid with as much chance of making the grade as me.
I dunno Roost, you showed plenty for the Chum Creek under 9s. Show a bit of patience. Some kids develop at different pace. Remember how some were calling for McVee to be delisted at the start of last season.

Lost the midfield
Lost the 50/50 battles
Lost Salem, an important cog.
Lost the important free kicks.
Three talls in forward line didn't work.
Our kids looked like kids against mature bodies.

Makes you wonder how Brisbane's midfield can be so superior, but they are killing us! Everything else flows from this.

Think there are some similarities but Johnno was a thumping kick. Regularly kicked it 55-60 metres.

Excited for the young bloke. Reckon his WAFL experience will hold him in good stead. He'll lay a few tackles and get on the end of some chains. Maybe even a goal or two.

Certainly been the big surprise this season. Looks really fit, covering the ground well, excellent disposal and taking the odd contested mark.
That aerial ability is probably why Tomlinson is on the outer.

Couple of surprises there. TMac and Fritta. Always knew TMac was a long distance beast but in his current role? And Fritta... huge surprise!

Outof interest, does anyone know aprox how far EPL players would run in a game?
Ummmm! 😀
Between 8 and 12 km depending on the position they play. Average midfielder runs about 11km a game.

Good point. Ummmm, maybe 'they' or 'them' doesn't identify as a proper noun?

I can’t remember a good player leaving Geelong. They know how to hold onto their players.
Even Gazza came back!
Only Tim Kelly but Cats won that trade!

Cats ball movement about five times better than Dogs. They have a proper plan. Dogs try hard, but so ineffective.

NON-MFC: Round 06
in Melbourne Demons

Agree. The whole attack on Bevo was way over the top. On statistics alone, Bevo has been the the most successful Dogs coach in 140 years of football. That team needs to be given a kick up the proverbial and Bevo has done that with Daniel, McCrae, Dale and others. He is an innovator but also a players coach. Cornes, Wilson and Barrett all did hatchet jobs this week. Shameful. He's a good Melbourne man and best mates with Jason Taylor so he's alright with me!
