I just want the team who are picked to turn up for 4 quarters and play like their season is on the line. Please help Max onfield, and please can Viney play in the 50 so we don't have continuous bombing to JVR.

Effort effort and effort. Don't blow a whole summers work in 5 minutes.

We have a lot of pre season champions, once the real stuff starts the pre season guns are lost in action. We don't look tough or strong and Gold Coast will pull our pants down. Who is going to carry this club on their shoulders, Maxy has had that role without much support.

This club has been average for too long if you are to believe we have a good list. I am in the camp that thinks we have A graders but there is a mindset problem in the guts and forward of centre. Mcvee Kossie and Windsor strengthen the group. We get shown up by effort when the opposition puts the foot down. As for JVR, he must be pulling his hair out with useless delivery. Only 2 games in and many on this list need to focus on effort and composure. I hate rebuilds...current list put away the nice stuff and get angry and play to your strengths. As for Goody..he has new ACs...no excuses, either he can get this list back into the 8 or he can't. We will know the answer to that in 6 weeks. Final word from me, Alan Richardson, I'm not a fan. He is Goodys boss and he needs to take some of the heat.

I'm a Spargo fan, he cracks in and is a good kick. My only gripe is bringing him back underdone. It happened last time and frankly he should play VFL for a couple of weeks.

Windsor needs to get that infection sorted asap. He us a big part of this team.

Hope I am wrong, but feel this is too many newbies against a potential top 4 list. Good luck to them, a lot of weight on the rest of the team to look after them and produce a win. Got a feeling the 4 points might go Giants. Anyway go hard dee's.

With a healthy list we should compete well against the giants. I have us between 6 and 10 ladder wise this year depending on health and fitness. Two things such as tweaks to gamestyle and kicking skills will determine if we make finals. Midfield is strong but Mayesy is in his last stretch and Petty should step up to help May out. Chandler is not the answer for small forward, and a lot is going to be expected of JVR. I'm tipping Viney will have a cracker of a year in a strong midfield ...if Viney nails a few more goals this year he could be AA.

Its a very nervous time for clubs in January. After xmas break of 3 weeks players bodies not at optimum according to former Hawks High performance manager. Too much time off leading into new year and training ramps up in a very short period.

With an important season in front of this club, I will wait until seasons end to worry about Picket or any other move by players at the end of the season.

Congrats to them both. Angus has leadership and I think he can coach one day if he follows that pathway. Also think he woukd make a top notch AFL administrator.

Wow some of those questions were straight out of Monty python. Others were shockers. All kudos to Brad Green, thrust into the limelight and holds himself pretty well. His heart is in the right place, and he patiently answered those awkward questions.

Off topic slightly, I was impressed by the videos that the club posted on pre season camp. Thing that stood out for me was leadership of lesser knowns, our new backup Ruckman as an example. Trent Rivers also was a standout.

Just waddled through this pre season camp thread. Sorry to say but, all I see here is a few people here wasting others time with self indulgent nonsense. Let's hopefully see more comments that actually talk about observations at the camp.
