Ignorantly, I had hoped AFL live pass would work when overseas. God dammit! ?
-
Pathetic. And I'm not talking about Lever... Its always the same here. Rag on a player for whatever reason, bemoan drafting him, his continual selection, his limitations.. etc Nek minnit... wow guys, that guy is good! I remember eveyone here used to say Tmac was no good. How'd that work out? Last year Omac was the continual whipping boy. Levers turn now is it? Why not just spare yourselves and everyone else the premature rants, and wait.

Coburg Lions v Casey Scorpions - VFL Round 1
JTR replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
If there has been a thread or discussion about this somewhere, I missed it. What problems? -
Garletts weapon is speed. He is not a pack marker. You can't expect him to do much with it when almost every entry into the forward 50 is bombed on top of his he head, often to a 2 on 1 That said, he could have spent a bit more time up the ground
-
I'd have been interested to see what the general theme of this thread would have been, had Gawn nailed his shot. One kick has seemingly turned the analysis of an entire game from what would have been reasonably positive (2nd quarter aside), to overwhelming negative.

Just said on 9 news that there has been a bit of a backdown and AFL has told clubs they can use whichever song they like.
-
For anyone thinking of going, tickets are $5 if you have a membership. Just enter barcode on back of membership card when booking online. Otherwise its $20

So who is still salty at only getting pick 31 for Watts?
-
I didnt mind it.

I was standing next to Mark Stevens about this time last year during a training session and he was dead set trying to turn players leaving the field to get a rub down into some newsworthy injury. "Zoom in on <player> over there <cameraman>, I reckon he's done a hammy. Yep, yep, he has. He just touched it. Get a close shot please" Nek minnit... Player runs back on and resumes training.....

Dont know if it was me who mentioned it when you read it, but thats something I've always said. After an early weekend loss I just want to forget about footy for a few days and so find it hard to enjoy watching any other games in the round. Often dont even feel like going to the local footy! Bring on Sundays!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
JTR replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Balic took several leave of absences didn't he, citing homesickness? Maybe the one year contract is simply the club not overcommitting incase there is more to it? -
They were saying on SEN last night that this is effectively a salary cap dump for Port. Lobbe is on a multi year big $ contract and the deal is apparently subject to Carlton taking on the full salary.
-
So if I heard what they said on SEN correctly, what we paid in points for Lever is equivalent to pick 6. What the Crows paid for Gibbs is equivalent to pick 5 L!!! O!!! L!!!
-
I'm trying to think of a Boaty McBoatface equivalent, but got nothing.
-
I'll reserve judgement until the end of the trade period. Maybe 31 will be used to get something better. If we keep 31 I'll be very disappointed that the club didn't suck it up and recognise that Jack offers a [censored] load more than a speculative pick in a reportedly weak draft. He was top 5 in last years B&F FFS. He and Hogan combined were being touted as the next big forward line duo earlier in this very season. He offers us things structurally that no other player in our squad can. Thats worth more than 31, imo....
-
Pick 31 That figures. Number is cursed!

--- > Jack Watts thread
-
With no rucks and Hogan out, I'd argue Watts had a big hand in getting us to that position in the first place. Up to the Bulldogs game he was having a very good season and the coaches appeared to agree, having at 6th in the B&F at that point. We all know what happened after that... :/
-
You mean like the post from GNF a while back which suggested Watts trip to Byron got him on the slippery slope to where we are today? That the club were filthy, that his rehab was hampered... etc etc etc? Look how much that has evolved. Now its been accepted as fact that Jack never tries, that his injury wasn't that bad, he just didnt care enough to get back as fast as he could, that he is a terrible trainer, that he doesnt spend enough time in the gym putting on muscle, that he is a terrible influence on all the young players... etc Scuttlebutt central this place, from both sides of the debate.
-
Nope, nope, nope. The Watts bashers will absolutely not have this.
-
Where'd he come in the 2016 B&F? How was he going this year until the injury? The rest is just absolute rubbish cobbled together from a few select pieces of select info, most of which comes from other theorys on this very forum that are dubious at best.
