I wouldn't call that a big game. Only the consequences if we lost would have been big . . .

Does anyone know why the forward half lines up differently to the backs on this footy infographic?
-
Saty. This is the entire selection of quotes since team announcement stating a dissenting opinion on the omission of Garlett. I'm not sure why you consider a contrary opinion to that of the selection committee as constituting idiocy or constant negativity? But I'd definitely have you on board if I were seeking an apparatchik.

Is that all you've got Picket? Here, let me step in. Dropping Jefffffffy is bat-sheeeeit-crazy!!!!

Careful. It can lead to serious cognitive dissonance when a patient 100% supports both the club, the admin and the all the players.

A few months in football is certainly a long time. Pre-season we might have reasonably expected something like this: Howe/Frost Cloke/Dunn Elliott/Jetta Fasolo/Salem Moore/TMac Swan/Lumumba And now we have these mouthwatering footy match-ups . . . Crocker/Hunt Cox/TMac Blair/Jetta De Goey/Stretch White/OMac Wagner/Varcoe

If I were seeking a way for Garlett to recapture his form and confidence, I'd send him to the forward pocket on Queen's Birthday at the MCG against Collingwood and tell him to kick goals.
-
If he had played last week those two scenarios would have been probable.
-
Now we're really messing with Buckley's head.

Wouldn't want to be in front with your back to the jester either. Not to mention the jumbo knees in the back of the seat.

Roos: 'our job is to decide whether he can functionally perform the way we want him to play and we won't know that until Saturday morning.' Whose job at the club is it to decide whether playing could aggravate the injury or cause longer-term damage? I hope they're not leaving it up to a character like Viney to self-report. And the question on which knuckle he injured is pertinent - is it a base knuckle or a middle one? Trying to mark or handball with an injured base knuckle is excruciating, especially of the middle or index fingers.

So now we know where Curry and Beer got to.

I'd argue that Wagner performing in a team that took it up to Hawthorn would be better for his long-term development than getting one extra flogging under his belt alongside Frost. We've been here before.
-
For me it's not a matter of getting games into the kids - we're doing that - but getting games into them all at once when the cupboards aren't completely bare. While in ways it's a good thing to get a young unit working together, Wagner is now almost senior member of the defense with 8 games to his name in front of Hunt (7), Omac (2) and Frost (0 in defence). That's four primary defenders with 17 games to their names vs. the likes of smart, crafty and experienced footballers in Rioli (166), Breust (126), Puopolo (121) and Gunston (115). Sicily himself almost has as many games to his name as those four combined. It's not the sort of transition you would expect when blooding young players.

I think it's more abandoning the Diamond for a lone operative. Everyone else to charge into the fray while Dunn lurks in the shadows smoking cigarettes.

We're going the tank at the behest of GC to ensure agreeable future trading relations?
-
I'm no fan of Garland.

We just lost 140 games of experience from our already faltering back-line for a fixture against the Hawks. Yup.
-
I got excited by this line; 'Although Roos said it was such an unknown if Trengove would ever play again, he added that he’s actually returned quicker than expected' - then realised it was referring to rehab time and not foot-speed. Congrats to Jack - can't wait to see him on the park. Tempting fate, but it feels as if the MFCSS is slowly lifting.

I doubt that a motion would provide any solid evidence subsequent to Viney squaring up.

Quick - everyone over to the selection failures thread!

The author is a seasoned Dees-watcher like most of us. And like most of us, he knows this isn't a false dawn and is conveying that idea. You don't even need statistical comparisons with 2010 - you just know. It comes from being a cynical and jaded seasoned Dees-watcher. Old Dee should be enough of a barometer for anyone. Failing that, Choo-choo and Truck standing next to Morton and Blease should give a fairly good idea of the difference.

Does anyone know which knuckle he did? Just from a forensics perspective. And if perhaps there was a puff of smoke seen rising from behind that leafy tree on the field?
