  1. Time is the only thing stopping tappy being a gun.. He will be a tough as nails backpocket and take the small forwards and lead the charge out of our backline.. He is exactly what we need out of our backline, a good kick.. Trust me when I say, he will be a gun! First picked every week

  2. As much as I love him, Aaron davey could be a good option for trade.. Besides last year, he has good market value and teams like st kilda, hawks, sydney and even west coast might be interested offering something big for him... If we could get a first round pick, trade that to the crows for dangerfield, or pies for dawes.. The only thing I would worry about is the effect it has on wonna and jurrah?

  3. Joel Mac is needed. He provides a solid body, good 1 on 1 and has a crack.

He is a footballer first, not an athlete first, and if you have been listening to anyone in the media with any sort of credibility, they are talking about footballers value is becoming again higher then athletes values. It has taken a swing in the past year and although he is not in our top 10, he is definitely in our top 25.

You are only as strong as your 30th player.

  4. A friend of a friend is an old vfl footballer, who played with hawks but is a mad demons fan, has alot of contacts still with melbourne, was talking about Neil Craig already agreeing to terms with Melbourne and he was saying "its looking good now we have got Craig". Didn't go into too much about it and everytime I ask him who he knows, he just winks and says footballers know footballers

Normally I would just blow this off, but he told me about Neeld 4 days before it came out in the press.

Don't bite my head off, just passng on a msg... I know its a friend of a friend but I thought I would share anyway.. Take it if you wish

  5. To be honest, I think Neeld may be almost better then getting MM.

    - He has spent 4 years with MM, has been his right hand man and learnt everything he could.

    - He is young and energetic, eager to prove himself and show Eddie that they should have chosen him over the fairytale - MM might be a little burnt out and old.

    - He is ALOT cheaper then MM, which means we can spend ALOT more on our football department --> ask any serious football club, thats what wins you flags.

    - Neeld also allows us to bring another senior person into the club and have some input, hopefully Neil Craig, which means we have the best of two clubs.

I just hope Neeld has the steel to change our culture and restore this club to where it belongs.

    Carn the Dees!

  6. Ok,

Stef Martin has the athletisim, the ruck work, and the build to be a good player. I think he will be a handy back up ruckman, part time forward and hole filler for the backline. However, he does not have the aggression or body movement of a power forward, and I doubt he will.

If you watch the way Jesse White, a 22 year old, 100 kg, 196 cm power forward moves around the ground, you can see he is not far away from being a star.

    What does he need?

To be the focal point of a young developing team.

I have watched a number of his games, where he has played more of a link up style rather then out and out FF. Sydney don't use him as much because of Sam Reid and Goodes demanding alot of the pill. I think they dont value him TOO much, so he is stealable.

For all those people who say Morton wouldn't be acceptable, your wrong, he is the perfect sydney mould. They would see his potential and make him work extra hard for it. I think Cale has the potential to be good, but maybe at the MFC he wont get there.

  7. I know there is alot of you out there who don't like Jesse White, but the guy would be the perfect fit for us.

    - Full Forward

    - Young

    - Strong

    - Fast

    - Aggressive

    - Not out of reach

I seriously think we should trade for him, apparently he wasnt too happy at the Swans earlier this year, may have changed now he is in their best 22 but I would give a Morton + a pick for him.

I WANT HIM IN THE RED AND BLUE

  8. Now I know Craig Hutchison is the least credible of the journos... but all over his twitter he talks about the 4 - scully, davis, palmer and ward. Probably 3 or 4 posts in a couple days about them and what do people think about them.

I know he isn't to be trusted, but wouldn't you think being a very good mate of our G.Lyon, if Scully was generally a chance to stay at Melbourne he would bite his tongue just for a few days and keep some credibility? Barrett also thinks Tom is a 98% chance of going (said on MMM today), and he is also a good mate of Lyon. I am not saying that his means he is definetly going, but surely if MFC were a serious chance, these guys wouldn't be putting their necks out?

I am expecting to hear the bad news tommorow about 11ish

  9. It could go both ways now..

    1) His manager may have noticed the damage he has caused to Tom's reputation and needs him to visit GWS to make it look like he hasn't made his mind up and actually considering both options.

    2) We take him on his word, and he wants to make the most informed decision to weigh up 6 million for 6 years and live in a [censored] hole, play on a suburban ground and possibly end up in hospital after Moloney runs through him or 3 Million for 5 years, play on the mighty G and avoid the whole 'Moloney' situation.

  10. We are not treading water for another year, the Todd Viney -> Mick Malthouse succession plan is not an option.

They must throw everything they have at:

    1) M.Malthouse

    2) R.Lyon

And if they can't get one of them, then they need to work on:

    1) M.Williams

    2) A Good Assistant

However, with one of these options, they need a few good assistants.

Losing Wellman from the backline has killed us a fair bit this year, and they rest of our assistants are spuds.

Keep Viney as an assistant or player development, and then clear the rest.

  11. Its always darkest right before the dawn.

    Port by 45

    But all is not lost:

    - the week after Tom Scully will sign with the MFC

    - Colin Sylvia, Brad Green and Stefan Martin will all sign up shortly after

    - Shortly after that, M.Malthouse will be spearheading our new coaching panel

    - And finally, we trade for a big forward.. my predictions is Jesse White

So in this one post, i have combined all of the discussion points in every thread for the past 6 months... so what!
