  1. Mundy had another year in him, nothing surer that this is the first move in the clearing of teh decks to fit Jackson in. Wonder how happy the playing group in Freo is that potentially much like players are going to be forced out to accommodate 1 player.

  2. Great question.

Really hard to say.. i think there is apart of me that hasn't enjoyed it as much as last year,  i think that's the pressure that has come with being the premiers. Last year was a wild ride.. hoping to play finals, hoping to finish top of the ladder, hoping to win a final, praying we win the GF.

I have not enjoyed some of the Media scrutiny, they have really made me angry at times with their constant searching for issues and looking to break us down.

Its been a tough year, but i will never not love watching us play.

  3. Goody looks like he has had some sleepless nights to be honest. Its only natural though.. the intensity and pressure on the team has heightened significantly.. its not easy being the hunted, it takes another type of pressure to deal with. Also wonder if the impending departure of Ooze to the Giants is weighing on him a bit as well.. little things add up when the pressure is on.

The Club will be ok though, even if we lose Jackson and Brayshaw.. the club will survive.. we have cornerstone, generational players locked in.. we build around the stayers, not worry about the leavers.

  4. I also reckon that fact that ANB is playing up the ground a bit more is a genuine factor, his pressure has been great up the ground, but we are missing his deep inside 50 pressure. Have to put Chandler in this week somehow.

But put Weid, Fritsch and Melk in that fwd line, its coming out pretty quickly if its not marked, zero inside 50 tackles last week is a disgrace.

I don’t know what Mark Williams does.

He seems to sit back in the bleachers, chewing gum, not talking to anybody.

One man too many enjoying the view when he could be in the box.

Seems to be heading down the same path as Macca.

We will have a mini shake up in the Coaches box next year.. im pretty confident Ooze will be down to the last couple for the GWS job, and Chocco might get poached by North to perform a developing role.

Would switching Hibbo onto a flank and Salem into the back pocket be sensible? We're not getting much drive from Salem at present.

I wouldnt want Salem close to the oppo goals. He is the elephant in the room for me at the moment.

Official probably the wrong word but yes unfortunately he is off.

    Disappointing I have to say

Yeah I know what you mean mate.

Yep I am disappointed. The club simply has to get the best deal possible and that has to be 2 First round picks a s a minimum.

I understand how players loose form (e.g. fitness, fatigue, confidence), but how does a whole coaching panel lose form? Should Goody, Williams, Ooze et al. be dropped, surrendered to the mid-season draft, traded to Freeo?

We have been outcoached a few times, and in the losses, selection at times has been questionable,   just maybe not responding to things, a bit stubborn. Think it happens, i dont reckon they are at the top of the game, just my opinion.

  9. Clearance work. Win clearances, you get territory. you get territory, you get repeat 50s. Repeat 50s allows Defence to set up, gives opportunities for scoring.

Win Clearances we get on top.

That and Pressure. We have had one good  game with immense pressure, against Brisbane and we smashed them.

I think we need to find a way to get Bowey into  that side .

We were badly beaten when the ball hit the ground in the Dogs forward line and we just don’t seem to have that small mop up sweeper

I agree, he was quiet, but right now, i would take Bowey over Salem. Christian is a very good player, but he has not got going at all. I think when he came back it unsettled Boweys role.

  11. I think we are cooked. I really do, dont want it to be true.

As well as players being out of form, i think the coaches are. That was really strange last night.

Think Chandler needs to come in. Obviously Lever. Tomlinson tries, but he is just a shadow of his former self. Steven May thrashed Naughton, but still made bad judgement errors, and watching him closely at teh ground last night, i think he was to demonstrative to team mates, especially Gus, it was pretty ordinary i thought.

Salem is out of whack, minimal impact. Gawn, again he tried, but he was soundly beaten around teh ground, again, coaching is an issue, Jackson should actually have juts went everywhere English did. Trac had some amazing impact touches, but he was quiet.

Jackson is having a very ordinary season. He should take the 1Mill plus on offer and go.

Angus was great, but his turnovers cost us 3 goals.

Im not into the Harmes hate, he tries, you need players like that.

Kozzi was good. Weed was good first half.

Fritsch i thought was great, but defensively lazy at times.

Spargs touches were good, but 10 is simply not enough and it hasnt been enough for teh majority of the year.

Langdon isnt the player since his ribs injury.

Clayton, Jack and Harry - our 3 week to week players you can count on at the moment.

The dream for back to back is over, but lets hope we dont just totally implode.

    In:

    Chandler / Lever /

    out:

    Tomlinson / Spargo

WE dont need a wingman (Acres) but Griffin Logue is a valuable key position competitive and versatile footballer who is a very Melbourne type of player and young enough to improve (just like Jackson will).  He could easile be a CHF FF or a key backman at FB or CHB.

We might need a wingman if Gus goes as well...

  13. Hear me out..

What if Brayshaw goes ( and i believe it is really 50/50 at the moment) and Jackson goes.

Leaves us with about 1.5mill to spend.. we get an end of first round compo for Angus..  get 2 first round picks and lets say a player like Meek, a ruckman that we actually need.

leaves us with 3 first round picks.. id imagine somehow we get a top 10 pick from Freo and there original first round pick.. maybe 14/15 plus pick 20 for angus after possible priority picks and FS picks (if there are any, im not sure this year)

DeGoey would have to be a thought, it would cancel out Angus pick and yes not many like him, but he can play.. and would play mainly forward i reckon.

or we bundle pick 20 and pick 15 to give to some club for an earlier pick and aim to have 2 picks inside top 10.

    SO many possibilities.

You're right Demon3 we do need to keep adding kids and we'll do that - with second and third round draft picks.

We wont get the luxury of high first rounders sadly and don't need late first rounders at the moment to pick up potential players who maybe decent in 2 to 3 years.

I'd much rather us getting known quality players whilst we still have Gawn, May, TMc and BBB whilst they're (rightly or wrongly for the last 2) still best 22.  If we can get improvements on the last two and any other players on the list happy days.

Gawn and May are going to be nearly impossible to replace - both wonderful players.  We need to strike with known players right now so we can be premiership threats while these two are still amongst it.

No where did i say that we wont get experienced players, im strictly talking about the draft. If you dont get high top end talent in through the draft you play catch up.

We will get first round picks if Jackson goes.

I am sorry but you are wrong.

we will already be up against it to keep all our kids who aren’t getting an opportunity at AFL level.

Ready made players to address our weaknesses is the focus.

No, im not, but thats ok. If you dont get kids in you end up in a black hole when your window closes. And if we lose kids, then thats the exact reason why you need more.  We dont have a first round pick, we need one, we want 2. We will get a free agent or a traded player, but rest assured, we want picks.

Happy to disagree mate and move on.

No we don’t. We want ready made players to have an impact straight away.

Worked so hard to be in the window:- the time is now.

Wrong, we want players, we will get a ruckman, still be in the window and get quality youth. You have to keep adding kids.
