All signs point to a year of growth.. the slows on him are unbelievable.. he is improving.. think people thought he should be winning a brownlow this year.

After Round 11 last year he had 4 goals.. he has 5 this year.

  2. If we are picking Mitch Brown then it signals some serious issues. Not saying we dont, but i think our FWD line is much better with a mobile Tom Mc. He moves, he gets up the ground, he leads, he opens up the fwd line so when we do get it BB gets a decent look.

Think we need to hold the line this week as we get more of our regulars back this week which helps balance.

BBB is a genuine chance to be dropped this week.

Personally, I'd leave him in, but that's the current goss.

(Not sure what that means for Weid)

Would not surprise me at all, he has basically had minimal to zero impact the last 3 weeks. Id give him another go as well, but he is on notice for sure.

He should get dropped that’s a woeful output, I’ve lost patience with Brown & the Weid, they show no physicality, hardly get to the contest & don’t mark the ball or get it at ground level

Tmac & Mitch Brown for me

Think you give him another go.. but he is on notice for sure. I think he plays better with Tom Mc in the team for some reason. Think Tom moves around a bit more and moves up teh ground, so BB has more room and is more 1 on 1 than big pack marking set up.

Thought he was a little unlucky the way some of these contests were adjudicated against Freo. At least he didn't smack a bloke like he did in the VFL.

All our Fwds led to the same spot all night, 3 big men going against each other, it really was an awful display of forward line set up.

The way he got bodied out of contests was concerning. I get he is basically a lead up forward but he was restrained by Freo's defence continually. Much of it illegal, yet when Hunt got in a wrestle with Lobb - free kick Lobb.

BB seems woefully out of form

Yep agree, Horribly out of form. Needs to have a strong second Fwd to help him.

  7. Im not saying he gets dropped but ben Brown would have to be under some pressure. We played the 2 bottom sides.. his output:

    WCE - 6 Disposal - 2 goals

NORTH - 8 Disposals no goals

FREO - 2 Disposals no goals

Its really not a great stretch for him and it probably reflects teh team, but he was awful on Saturday v freo, uncompetitive, pushed aside, no strong leading pattern.  Three weeks, 2 goals. Not good enough really.

Its not going to get easier for him with a strong Defensive outfit in Sydney, 2 McCartins are in good form and Rampe always plays well v Dees.

Yeh, you're probably correct. He looked like a deer in the headlights with ball in hand sometimes though Hunty. He has been good defensively most of the time this year.

    Bowey was down.

I just thought their small forwards generally were afforded too much space.

Yeah i agree, they all got beaten and the entire backline looked under pressure after half time. Wake up call for the Mids. Its won in the middle, the flow on effect from losing clearance and Contested poss is huge. Add that to 43% inside fwd 50 efficiency and it was a pretty meek performance. Ben Brown under some pressure as well.

    He's 194 cm, not 197.

Against Sydney, it'll be the smalls we need to worry about again rather than the talls.

Hunt and Rivers have been really underwhelming recently and it's been the reason we're leaking goals.

The lack of midfield pressure allowed for Freos talls to get a hold of us a bit on the weekend but that was heavily influenced by Petracca's non-competitiveness. I get he was crook. But at times it actually cost us that he was lining up in the middle. It was a mistake to play him and hopefully we learn from that.

Our mids need to be at their ferocious best on the weekend.

Harsh on Hunt.. Was forced to match up on talls at various stages during the Freo game. He hasnt been beaten all year until Saturday, but not many Demons won their position..

We looked like we lacked confidence to go forward at various stages, allowing Freo to set Up beautifully, then once they got it, they got separation on us very easily.

  10. Obviously the big 4 come in, Tmac, Salem, Ed and Harmes (if ready) plus Tomlinson who Goody has already flagged. Id say 5 changes is probs the biggest amount of changes for some time just as a side note.

The outs compounded our structure and watching it live, for the first time in a while, players looked lost, especially down back, just interesting to observe. Think Spargo playing higher didnt help fwd connection. Get back to basics this week. Contest, clearance and strong defense. that will open up the fwd line.

  11. Freo are an ok-good side. Nothing more. They have a good backline which will challenge our fwds. Our Mids have them covered and our defense should cover their fwd line.

I thought we looked a bit sluggish on the weekend, and it was a fairly tough game, so it will be an interesting game.

Langdon will be a key for us, he is elite at the MCG, i hope he is ok to play and i suspect Freo if they had any brains will work him over.

    Looking forward to this match.

  12. Who was teh last player we lost that we really wanted to keep? its been a while. Gus has been huge for 2 years and is obviously happy within himself and has matured to the point that becoming a fill in or in case of emergency player has not worried him.

Id be surprised if he left to be honest but who knows. If its a case of Lose Brayshaw to keep Sparrow would you be ok with it?

  13. This is a big moving round for the top 8.

Suns not out of the question to cause upset over Freo and while unlikely to beat Lions, the Crows should put up a better showing at home. One of cats and saints could be 2 games outside the top 4 after the weekend. Blues with no Mackay against a GWS team fare welling the coach will be an interesting watch.

Big weekend and a potentially convincing win for the Dees will be a great result. Not out of the realms that we are 2 games clear at the top come Sunday night.
