This may be a dumb question but, does the club have a sports psychologist? I feel like ,given the drop off of the AFL, AFLW and even the VFL teams in this last season, the players may need some good mental work to face next season. Feels like the club needs to find a way to both erase and forget about the ghosts from recent failures and focus on the potential and talent of our lists.

Or our club just doesn't have the right mentality at the moment. The talent and potential is there, something weird is going inside the club when it comes to facing finals.

I may be too naive or cynical but players should question when their managers propose ideas that are unethical or counterproductive to their current employment situation.

Specially if they are contracted. The club may want to do well by the player, but only if there's sufficient compensation for said club (which we didn't get from Jackson).

I am sure the salaries close to 20 million are the best cure for "homesickness".

This homesickness thing is very unique of the AFL. More likely than not ,in professional sports around the world, athletes prefer to go/stay in bigger markets or successful organisations. That doesn't seem to be prevalent in the AFL.

How many contested marks and marks inside 50? 🤔 guessing those stat would be very high

I wasn't talking specifically about Petty, I was referring more to the broader professional sport evolution. It is also cruel when the clubs treat players like just assets and not people. I do agree I may have become more cynical, just too many negative stuff happening around in the world today.

I am not trying to point fingers towards any particular individual, I just express my perception of the society as a whole. At least when it comes to professional sport, you can see how it has evolved... NBA in the super team era, ditto in soccer with the state sponsored teams (Petro dollars).

The newer generations don't understand the concept of loyalty, honesty and hard work. They only understand the Tik Tok and Instagram "clout", whatever that means.

Must keep our core premiership team at all cost. We have only lost Harmes and Jackson so far. Harmes unfortunately was no longer required and Jackson abandoned ship.
