You can still review and, with a high degree of certainty, determine if the edge was triggered by the player. Also, you can have a rule that if a player touches the pad it voids the review and it's a goal.

That goal umpire needs to go to Specsavers. Regardless of any "sounds" you can't miss the huge gap between the ball and the post. As it has been pointed out before, goal umpires should be instructed that if they have any reasonable doubt it is a must to call for ARC review.

It wouldn't hurt if Geelong can stay out of finals for 3-4 years.

Are they going to remain silent when this happens in a PF or worse in a GF? It will happen sooner than later.

Carlscum with all the gifts from the umpires, they can hold their man, no HTB, throws galore 😡😡😡😡

NON-MFC: Rd 23 2023
Nah, Melbourne had 2018 before any success in finals. Carlton hasn't played in finals for 10 years, unless the AFL is working something up with the umpires? 🤔

Yes, they need to lose both games of course. Then 2 or 3 teams to win both remaining games.

They need to lose both games and Adelaide and GWS to win both games?

I have read lots of posts from Pies supporters on Twitter and they seem to be OK with dropping the minor premiership. They don't fancy playing us at the G' and rather would play Port at the G'. Colliwobbles 😁😁😁

Brayan Brook? It needs more Western Suburb representation

Clayton Oliver: A Demon for Life
Just look at it from the perspective of other sports. Messi in soccer is probably the all time GOAT. However he, like Clarry, is not a natural when it comes to public speaking or advertising.

The Run Home
I was trying to find a correlation for the lack of success for teams placed 4th. I thought maybe playing as a truly away team had a big impact on their performances(i.e. Melbourne wouldn't truly be the away team playing against the Pies at the G'). However, as others have pointed out, it most likely is because 4th will lose against 1st in most instances, in which case they have to face 5th. 4th v 5th in a semifinal is as tight a match as you can have.

The Run Home
As it turns out only 9 of those 4th placed teams were interstate teams. Less than half, something like 45%

The Run Home
Yeah, it would be interesting to check how many of those 4th placed teams were interstate teams.

The Run Home
Unfortunately our fate is no longer in our hands. I think 2nd place is almost out of reach, 3rd place is the best we can achieve IMO. I hope I am wrong and Brisbane and Port lose one of their next 2, and we win both games.

The Run Home
Interesting post from AFL TW Would we prefer to finish 3rd even if it means facing the Lions at the Gabba? Worrying that the 4th placed teams on the ladder have never won a premiership.
