The accepted view seems to be that he would stay a couple of years if no deal can be done. It is an opportunity for him to go home and play for the club he barracked for.
IMO we have been pragmatic and started looking at what we can get out of it, rather than keep him for a couple of years and go through all of this again for another year.
We can really plug some list holes if we are smart.
Didn't he barrack for the Weagles? I thought his idol was Nic Nat

Don't worry about Collingwood, they are just lucky. Luck doesn't win you finals.

You do know where his family and mates live, don’t you?
I never buy the narrative of 'homesick', FFS we live in 2022 not 1970. You are just a 3 hour flight from home. Not saying it is not a contributing factor but most definitely the money weighs more into the decision.

Watching Oliver it is clear he is still hampered by his broken thumb. His normally instantaneous clean ball takes were still absent and his handball skills were suppressed. May need another couple of weeks to fully recover. Costing him at least ten possessions a game.
Most importantly, can he still win the Brownlow?🤔

I have the feeling we will surpass the 70k mark next year, regardless of the outcome of this year's finals.

Please keep their score under 100, don't want the streak to end!

Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood.. why do they always seem to have deep pockets and cap space? Surely they run out of those if year in year out target key players (on top coin) from opposition teams.

Best game of Lever for the season. Hopefully he can carry it all the way until the finals.

I don't really care who wins the premiership. Question should be , who you don't want to win it... For me I don't want to see a Carlton, Richmond or Collingwood premiership. IMO the only one with real chances from those 3 is Richmond.

And gee whiz. Oliver runs our midfield, @binman. Petracca wouldn't get it half the time if Oliver wasn't giving it to him. Petracca has dynamic moments and could turn a GF as we've seen, but over the four quarters I'd have Oliver, but love Trac too. 😜
My thoughts exactly.
Oliver is the quiet hard worker, Petracca the flash and dash.
You rarely see Oliver MIA in a game, even in his "worst" performances.

He's special. Leading the AFLCA MVP again too, despite Gawn and Trac also getting plenty of votes.
He's just like a big kid playing at his local footy club, you can see how he enjoys every single time he is out there hurting people and grabbing the pill.
Has there ever been any back to back champion player of the year?

Would be great to discuss how many B&F Clarry will win when he is done playing footy... 😲 I am continuously gobsmacked and in awe when I see him play.
Top 5 MFC players all time?

I wonder who are in our wish list at the moment, thinking of next season and beyond. Surely a key Full Forward.

You don't know player managers do you?
Managers they just want to milk the cow as much as possible, don't they get paid on the basis of the contracts they procure for their players?

We are the only team that was 10-0, and in a position to push the "loading" to the limits.
So nothing except a 8 - 1 or 7 - 2 run will be acceptable.

This will be the making of Dogga.

Not a single person has said we issues like absent players, illness, in game injuries and oppo tactics are not factors in our form
But they are not the biggest factor, even collectively.
Loading is the biggest factor.
Just as it was last year.
And is worth noting that loading directly exacerbates issues like absent players, illness, in game injuries and even opp tactics (wow teams are gong though the corridor - they must have solved the puzzle; juts like last year - until they didn't))
The exact same debate raged for six weeks or so last year, and at the same point the season.
I could link to any number of posts where i said loading was the biggest factor and any number of post rubbishing that opinion.
The posters rubbishing that opinion will no doubt disagree, but i was proved correct.
Anyway, as i have said happy for you to belive that loading is not having the impact i, and many others, think it is.
Question remains, are we the only single team that does loading? No other team out there seems to be struggling like we are with stamina.

We await the results of the scan. Our season could depend on it. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious for the skipper.
And yes, a 10 day bye seems unjust when other clubs get over 15 days break. We’re struggling with injuries so it’s going to hit us hard.
On top of having the shortest pre season of all. Biased AFL

The difference being that in the NFL or NBA top draft picks usually play at the very least 5 or 6 years with the teams that picks them.
