The way the leaders of the playing group performed today speaks louder than anything we can say here. If they love their coach son much you'd think the effort and commitment would be always there. I am not affirming what Hellfire posted but you can't but wonder how committed the players are with their coach.

Reality is,it will always be easier to sack one coach than overhauling your list of A grade players.

Mind boggles why we were not able to bring some A grade talent while being premiership fancies.

Not so much fluke, but everything worked perfectly for us. Unlikely to happen again. Our list became worse YOY, no idea why we were not able to attract top talent FA for the last 3 years. Besides Grundy who we dismissed after one season.

You are entitled to your opinion. Hard for me to see us compete (i.e win a final, which we haven't done since September 2021). I think we are in the cross roads of a potential rebuild. Which is not so bad considering the talent we have collected in the draft the last 3 years.

I did not say retire Gawn. I want to really think what are we going to do with our veteran players. Wether you like it or not they won't play forever. Are we rebuilding? Do we think we have even a remote chance to compete in the next 3 season?

Simpson reeks of Goodwin 2.0, it's a no for me. Should be more bold and try a new guy like Hawthorn did.

Our problem is that we won't move forward, like with Goodwin. That includes the playing list, as hard the decision may be.

Let's discuss Max more in depth. Do you think he's got the speed and stamina require for the current style of footy? Unless you make him a more permanent piece in our fwd line, don't see him being good come next year. He's been a great ruckman and thanks for your service but we need to move forward.
