  1. Langdon for Melksham who only played 57% gametime. Maybe Bowey to give Salem, who looks proppy, 2 weeks off. Weid to stay.
  2. Watched that last quarter goal-fest in the west from Essendon and Richmond where just about every i50 resulted in a goal. That's just not going to happen against us.
  3. They're a very talented well-drilled side at virtually full strength. That win was absolute ripper.
  4. We had 8 players with less than 50 games vs 5 for them.
  5. Quite frankly it was fine, I knew we could play much better than we were and the fact that the difference only got out to 20 points despite the fact that they were at full strength and could not possibly play any better was a positive.
  6. It absolutely is when it's about events over which you have absolutely no control except how you feel about them
  7. Raised by @Hannibal on BF - "young Lions" is a myth: Average Attributes Melbourne Attribute Brisbane 188.0cm Height 187.9cm 86.5kg Weight 87.0kg 24yr 9mth Age 26yr 2mth 88.9 Games 111.8
  8. Weid had another "almost" game, he's still not quite sticking his marks and his kicking confidence is down. Two aerial contest led to goals and groundball gets and handballs directly produced two goals. He also tackled with intent. He's 23 and he has all the attributes, he just needs to stitch it together. He'll play next week against Collingwood and he needs to continue to compete hard to maintain his place - another "almost game" and VFL resumption over the bye giving BB a chance to assert himself may see Weid out against Essendon. He's a work in progress and the forward line is functioning very productively with him in there.
  9. So Brisbane averaging 107 and us averaging 62 against. That's a big difference.
  10. Who is in their top 3 they refer to? I don't expect Neale to play. Zorko, McCluggage ??? I strongly prefer Petracca and Oliver.
  11. None of that is too unreasonable. I prefer it when opposition supporters are feral flogs ...
  12. Maybe Carlton could have benefitted from your insight before the last trade period?
  13. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/albums/946531/western-bulldogs-v-melbourne-afl-round-11-2021?modal=true&type=gallery&playlistId=946531&playlistSize=111 Images 21, 46 and 49 and 111 seem to suggest otherwise.
  14. I'm very fortunate that lockdown is only inconvenient for me - unlike for many whose livelihoods are affected or have kids in home schooling but ... On my morning exercise walk 1/3rd of people not wearing masks. We have 2 Covid sites in the neighbourhood but about 20 people assembled outside the local cafe waiting for their take-away coffee - chatting, half a metre apart - no masks. Multiply by a thousand Melbourne-wide. Selfish, thoughtless people who think they are special and the rules don't apply to them. This is a big reason why there is lockdown and extended lockdown. Don't get me started on unvaccinated aged care workers - what they're thinking beggars belief.
  15. TBF I don't know anything in detail about the talent either but there's just not going to be flag ready to go KPs out there.
  16. I'd walk there if necessary ...
  17. Any ready-to-go player will be a role player not a pea. Even Marlion Pickett, the most successful MSD, is a role player, notwithstanding his GF heroics - I could have got a kick against GWS that day. @Cheesy D. Pun - I think we've got cover for injuries to 2 KPs - of course we'll be weakened and it depends who they are how much that would be - any two of May, Lever and TMac is going to really hurt. But the point is there's just not going to be greater ready-to-go talent out there than Majak and M.Brown. Just to be clear - I wouldn't play either Brown back - TMac and Majak would be first choices to move there and we'd plug the forward gap.
  18. @binman and @george_on_the_outer? Non-believers ...
  19. I think alternating is the way to go and we did get (a reduced) ANZAC Eve this year and will have missed QBW home game 3 years in a row (2019 was Collingwood home game) so they could give it to us next year.
  20. Anywhere, anytime has a nice ring to it and I'm glad that Max and the team feel that way. But I'm against playing it at the Gabba - if we play there then a reasonably possible scenario is that we lose and Brisbane makes top 2 because of it and we have to go back there to play them in the finals - not a good outcome. I think Premiership takes care of financial issues and that's what I would prioritise.
  21. The financial issue for us is that currently we have ANZAC Eve and QBW both scheduled at home one year and away the next. I thought we were originally scheduled away at both last year but I was wrong - we were scheduled at home for both. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-fixture-2020-full-draw-games-times-venues-for-afl-season-afl-fixture-2020-release-date-announcement/news-story/6fb855a74dddeb2747ce351599c22d47
  22. Seriously, we're not going to get a premiership-ready KPB in the mid-season draft. We've currently got B.Brown, Majak and M.Brown not getting a game who have been with us all season and longer - we're not going to find someone more ready than any of them. We're possibly playing one extra tall in attack at the moment and could go with one less there if necessary too. If crisis struck and we lost 2 talls we would need to shuffle existing resources.
  23. I agree with that but I just don't rate Baker.
