  1. Swans seem to have a long list af AFL ready young talent. If the deal goes ahead maybe we should be looking for a player swap given our list vacancies? Any desirable realistic (not Heeney or Mills) prospects?
  2. It was a good quiz just slightly out of context which made it harder. Still someone got it so that's a plus.
  3. May is only 6 months older than Gaff 1/92 vs 6/92.
  4. With 2 & 3 already this year maybe Freo's 1st next year suits them. It's likely to be in the vicinity of the compo pick they would get if they held on to May. Then the question is: is it better to have him there or not in 2019? GC really need to get value for him now and start to make progress but as you say @Lucifer's Hero how many 18 you do they need? In 2016 they had 4 picks in the top 10 Ainsworth, Scrimshaw, Brodie, Bowes - none have come on really strongly unfortunately and Scrimshaw is on his way out. However last year none in the top 10 because they traded 2 for Lachie Weller. Maybe 3 in the top 5 of the "superdraft" is the best plan they've got? Craig Cameron is a smart, experienced operator who was at Richmond for their rebuild. He's no nonsense too so I think they are in good hands. But what a challenge with both co-captains leaving in one year! Hardest job in AFL. Maybe it warrants it's own thread - what would you do if you were GC List Manager?

OK BnF is an event to get past.

Is Gaff really still trying to decide between North and West Coast?
  7. You're welcome to do the research. I'm not your intern.
  8. How many times have you seen him live in action?
  9. Good get!
  10. Clubs need to have a vacant Rookie list spot available to exercise the option of a pick - it's hard to see how this would have "very bad list management decisions based on possible short term gains rather than a long, thought out planned process" I've addressed that state league clubs should get substantial financial compensation
  11. Don't have an answer but they look like player numbers, game points margins or draft pick numbers to me
  12. West Coast 12 changes end of 2017 = Premiership 2018 ???
  13. Prepared to give Goodwin the benefit of the doubt on Essendon players who were there when he was.
  14. Posted this earier in the thread but looks like it's worth a repeat ... A lot of discussion about perceived large list changes. Here's the numbers from last year: https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.triplem.com.au/sport/afl/news/2017-afl-retirements-and-delistings/amp Adelaide 8. Brisbane 12. Carlton 13. Collingwood 8. Essendon 8. Fremantle 12. Geelong 7. Gold Coast 12. GWS 8. Hawthorn 8. Melbourne 8. North 8. Port 11. Richmond 7. Saints 8. Sydney 8. West Coast 12. Dogs 9. 8 is the magic number, minimum is two 7s. Our projected number of around 10 is not an outlier. WC 12 and in the GF

Not interested. He's not a crumber and he's useless defensively. We've already got Melksham in this role who kicked 32 goals and is far better.
  16. I think it's a good idea as long as the providing lower clubs receive decent cash compensation for losing their investment. Good opportunity for players. Good for clubs who find themselves in a hole because of a spate of injuries in a certain role. I suspect it will only be exercised a handful of times a year. But that's fine.
  17. Like when Wheels got Hird in that Elimination Final except these times we won.
  18. Does the club a player is drafted from get a bonus payment from the AFL in the existing drafts? They probably should, with higher payments for higher draftees. Good reward and incentive to clubs. This mid year draft could have the highest payment scheme to compensate for the disruption caused.
  19. Hard to get in before GC and Carlton
  20. Players have to nominate. They can't be kidnapped it's against the law. Said star could just wait fot the National Draft.
  21. No Mahoney No Oliver
  22. Contradiction?
  23. Wonder why Johnstone announcement was delayed and not rolled up with the others. Maybe his end of season interview was delayed for some reason. Otherwise something has changed in the meantime?

West Coast have up until Monday 15 October to match any RFA offer and force a trade: Friday, 5 October: Restricted free agency offer and unrestricted free agency period starts. Monday, 8 October 10am: NAB AFL Trade Period starts. Friday, 12 October 5pm: Close of restricted free agency offer and unrestricted free agency period. Monday, 15 October 2pm: AFL restricted free agency matching offer three-day period ends. There's time for plenty of water to flow under this bridge.
