wow nice work by Freo and very helpful to our cause Port still have 6 & 10 which possibly gets them 2 of highly rated SA prospects Lukosius, Rankine, Rozee and Hately. That's win-win trading

Agree I love trade period.

Yeah look the 4th rounder 62 that we might get back to balance the trade could be useful since we're turning quite a few players over and may still be picking then. But the competition for players is thin at that point in the draft. Don't sweat the small stuff.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
No shiit post. Those stats are not from last year. Did you miss it when he dominated against us in atrocious conditions at Casey this season in a rare televised match? Have a look at the 2018 stats in the later post by @Sydee. Scroll across to his hitout numbers "reasonable number of hit out" 75, 72, 62, 60, 55, 50. FML I'd like to see good numbers then! Look this trade only makes sense to me if he's back up to Max. He's not really a ruck forward like Vardy, he's a big 1st tap ruckman. Contested mark numbers are reasonably good at 20. We'd have to be consistently playing a more extreme version of the gamestyle with a ruckman behind the play if Max and Preuss both play together.

Crows notoriously conservative in trading. It has cost them big time IMO.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
There's bound to be a variation in player welfare from club to club. I cite Essendon under James Hird as a recent extreme example. More observant players are likely to be aware of this potential for variation and when their club shows them decent consideration they may feel some sense of reciprocation. It's not that hard to understand - my employer is a commercial entiity who hired me to benefit their commercial ends - but have treated me fairly and well when they didn't have to and I feel alignment to them. Smart practice IMO. This whole idea extends to fairness of dealing in trade period. MFC has established a reputation for this and I think reaps rewards. Players want to play for us.

Opposition players sleep a little more uncomfortably before MFC games.

Gold Coast have List Management Numerologist funded in their soft cap by the AFL.

MELBOURNE’S NEXT GENERATION FOOTBALL ACADEMY
Yes I don't really have a problem with any of that. I think the non-football states need a leg up with scarce home grown talent and to combat go-home factor which is much worse for them. I think F'S is a great thing and the acquisition system is fair, Far better than the previous 2 iterations: 3rd round Pick directly after nominated draft selection What are you suggesting as an alternative?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yeah we'll all be counting the great savings, after we finish runner up to WC with Kennedy kicking 4.

MELBOURNE’S NEXT GENERATION FOOTBALL ACADEMY
Did you prefer the previous system where all F/S went for 3rd rounders, only NSW and Qld teams had Academy players and they went for free?
-
MELBOURNE’S NEXT GENERATION FOOTBALL ACADEMY
The AFL receives a lot of criticism but I think the points system and 20% discount for F/S and Academy players is a great outcome.

Freo must have convinced Brisbane that 5 + 24 doesn't get the Neale trade done, otherwise why trade it? Now the next better offer would need to be 5 + 2019 1st with maybe something going back to Brisbane. Brisbane's 2019 1st may then be in play for Hogan. Who knows where Brisbane's and Freo's 2019 1sts will be placed - maybe Brisbane's later?

As @Red and Blue realist says Swans need points for Blakey and they get a 20% discount on the pick he is nominated at. 26 = 729, 28 = 677, 40 = 429 26 + 28 = 1406 which covers pick 6 = 1751 with the 20% discount, that should easily be enough. They already had 33 and 38, so maybe one of them or 40 in play for VDB. Well played by the Swans.

Begging for "Fremantle doctor" dad joke. Whatchootalkinabout - of course Fremantle would do a medical on him using their own trusted resources. It's draftees that can't have club medicals.
