Farewell Jesse Hogan
Quite frankly that looks completely normal to me and seems like it was forever to be so.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Max had average game time of 85% in 2018: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-melbourne-demons--max-gawn?advv=Y If Preuss and Max both play then Max could drop that to say 75% gametime to help his longevity. Preuss would need to play at least 65% gametime so we don't lose out on rotations. That means they'd be on the field together (minimum) 40% of the time - assuming they are never both off together.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
It's worth re-iterating that Steven May chose MFC over offers from Collingwood and Hawthorn who also made finals this year - really who would've thought that even 2 years ago? And he cited the key reason was "the guy" Simon Goodwin, that means he preferred Goodwin over Clarkson and the reborn new age Buckley! Wake me up, I must be dreaming!

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
I'm not disputing that Hogan is a great player. His last game for us this year was the loss vs Sydney, after that with TMac and Weed as key forwards we went on a four game winning streak against top 8 sides - WC in Perth scoring 108, GWS 102, Geelong 75 in a low scoring match and Hawthorn 104. I don't think Hogan would have made any difference in the PF. I think there's a fair body of evidence there that the forward line is not a glaring weakness.

Jason Taylor Resume
Maybe, but getting the deals done for the list compounds UP the line. Fail to get a deal done because you play hard ball and the list is a year behind. Sure we could've risked waiting for May as FA next year but it pushes REAL on-field results another year down the track.

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
We tried Joel Smith forward a couple of times this year including in the 2nd half of the PF. He has that incredible genetic leap and is fast and a good tackler so his defensive capabilities are sound. It will be interesting to see if he's training with the forwards next year.

There's a difference between being sad to see Hogan go and canning Mahoney.

They don't have 30

Neale + 30 for 6 + 19 + 55 values Neale at 6 + 35

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
I said earlier that as long as this trade hasn't happened the Hogan - May trade is alive. It's interesting to consider the details though. Clearly 5 is involved for May but if the KK deal is bundled in, that probably means both for 5. Otherwise if GC want straight 5 for May, we may as well do the KK deal now separately.

Farewell Dom Tyson
Wish Dom all the best. But not Norf - just so annoying.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
2019 will be a bleak old year for Freo fans with Neale gone, no Hogan in and just some blue sky 18yos struggling to make their way in AFL with little protection in a bottom 4 team. Add West Coast flag euphoria and stir. Rosich and Bell would be brave.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Far too much reference to "bending over" and "shafting" on this board. Really have a think about it and grow up!
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Craig Cameron is a straight shooter and a very smart operator - no doubt he and Mahoney have a range of in principle deals ready to execute as soon as Freo get their shiit together.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I think you need to wait and see it play out before assuming it's a direct swap.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
You seem to be persistently leaving May out of your posts - quite clearly he is our #1 target. Look I think if we don't get the Hogan-May deal done you will have a valid point. That's why I'm expecting it will happen.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I see it's apparently Rohan and Dahlhaus that we missed out on - OK resume normal transmission.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Of course it's possible but it's not MFC's fault that the Hogan-May deal is holding things up - did you wants us to accept 11 and a 2nd rounder so we could do these "other deals"? What other deals do you have in mind? I know we don't leak but there hasn't been anything even remotely out there except the KK deal. Give me your list of other players you think we're not getting because this is held up.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
wow some Manifesto, dig in deeper! FWIW I've enjoyed you input, even if there's been too much of it - a bit like too many Tim Tams. But I can't help feeling you're headed for a crash - the odds favour the trade going through. I'm not confident to call it one way or the other but if you end up being right massive kudos to you!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Gold Coast are clearing the decks of the small stuff so they can get the May and KK deal done quickly at the last minute if necessary. I see this as a positive.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
GC now holding 2, 3, 19, 24, 29, 59, 68, 80 They just received 68 from North for Hall 24 and 59 in pick swap from Brisbane. Once they add 5 in there from us for May those later picks look unusable.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yes but GC will get pick 2 for him next year if they block the trade and force him into FA. That will be guiding their view of market value.
