I think teams are name Friday night. I think the AFL has shifted permanently to the day before the match for the rest of the season.
-
Agree, I hope the Smith and Hunt experiments with athletes is over.
-
I thought it was a very good likeness - particularly height-wise
-
Hardwick - what a scumbag. Wallis fractured Brad Green's larynx and sent him to hospital and Long nearly paralysed Troy Simmonds and that scumbag is lauding this as some kind of great example! Lynch is a sniper and a sook - very hateable.

Agree, if we lose to the Dogs but Max is 100% for the rest of the season it's still alive. Beat the Dogs but Max out for 6-8 with a PCL is less desirable IMO.
-
If Max and Brayden are both out then Brown has to play IMO and do some rucking with TMac. The other alternative is to play OMac and move Tomlinson Fwd/Ruck but I like this less.

Mmmm Tyson for Preuss
-
Agree, a pick is useless at the level Preuss would command (i.e 3rd round+) in a highly compromised draft when we should be in contender mode. It would have to be for a useful player that fills a need we have and is excess to the other team's requirements, e.g. like Butler from Richmond.

I picked the Dogs for the flag this year - they are highly talented (clearly better than they were in 2016), have a fit list and Beveridge is a very good coach. They will be an all mighty test for us this week. I reckon if we win we're guaranteed to play finals and it will indicate to me that we can give the flag a real shake.
-
I would be up for trading Preuss, particularly if we think Bradtke will make it and keep him. Geelong might be interested and we might like one of their excess small forwards. Here's a post from BigFooty on the subject from a Geelong supporter, I really don't know enough about the bolded players mentioned as possibles to make an evaluation: We have a lot of small forwards/pinch hit mid types even with Ablett retiring - Miers Parfitt Fogarty Dahlhaus Atkins Close Narkle Simpson Evans Taheny Tarca and Parsons is a lot of guys fighting for 3 or 4 spots. The first 3 on that list are highly rated and I doubt we will let them go Dahlhaus wanted to come home he won't leave but any of the rest are gettable but I don't know how much interest Melbourne would have in them.
-
Yeah well Bradtke is a cross between Michael Jordan and Martina Navratilova.

Dogs debut Sweet, we debut Bradtke

Wait a minute - in other threads you are saying we are a top 4 team and the problem is Goodwin.
-
Is that you Donald?

Cats are looking good on the field and in the stats. They were still a hard-to-believe $11 for the flag after smashing the Saints, they've come in from that after bashing PA. I'd like to get them in a final though, I think we scare them.
-
OK, I think you're ready to take off the training wheels now Ethan and make a try at conditional logic. If Nathan Jones is in MFC best 22 And MFC Best 22 is playing against Footscray this week Then Nathan Jones is playing against Footscray this week Give it a try

Quotes please.

All the finals would need to be there then. As I think you mentioned - they'd need the pre-finals bye to overcome 2 week quarantine and then play 4 finals at Optus Stadiums in the first week, that would be very tight to schedule. They couldn't play those finals without crowds so that probably means all the finalists would need to fly out on Sunday of Round 18. I can't see it happening.

Absolutely no-one has said that.

I think the Prelims are likely to be at the higher finishing sides home ground if that's Brisbane and Port. I don't think the AFL will get to go back to WA after the Swans episode and McGowan's reaction. The Eagles are nowhere near as good away from there.
-
Sweet, on debut and from the SANFL - might be indeed I hope English is out and we don't take any risks with Max.
-
It's easier said than done but if we beat the Dogs and GWS in 8 point games then we will probably only need one more win to make it. Huge game this week - win and the road gets clearer.
-
Look we played down on their fortunes Adelaide, North and Collingwood in the last 3 weeks but Nathan would have lost to them all plenty in his career so there would be some sweetness.
-
Or 300 on the Premiership dais. Imagine if we made this year's GF in Nathan Jones 300th game and won - there would be some poetic justice there. I think that would cure MFCSS forever

Apart from one handball direct to the opposition on the back 50 at the end of the game he played well against Collingwood. Laid a couple of bone crunching tackles too which hasn't been his forte. I thought he was fine against North too. Definitely earning his spot for me.
