None of this smacks of the club trying very hard to keep a bloke.

It is fairly obvious that Roos moved on pretty quickly from his crocked CHF. We haven't fought very hard to keep him have we? I don't think we wanted it to end like this but Roos is a pragmatist - why have such an investment in a bloke who cannot get on the park and doesn't help where we need the most help - in the midfield?

The AFL will let clubs know 'provisionally' on the condition they don't get any FAs in. We are the club that asked for this from what I have heard. If we do not intend to bring any FAs in, we can know what Frawley will get us within 24 hours of him leaving.

The club probably advised him to remove it because he should not be conversing with the nuff-nuffs who are frothing at the mouth. Dunn knows Clark, probably is good friends with him, that doesn't change because he leaves the Demons. It's pathetically naïve of you to think that the players should spurn other players that leave a club. Clubs treat players as chattel to achieve an end, players are aware that their careers are at the mercy of those at the clubs. Many on here want to trade out all but a few players - if the club can spurn a player on a whim, why should the players spurn each other for a similar decision by one of their colleagues? This is not some emotional investment in the club for them, it is their career, and we should get over what the club got over ages ago.

Maybe Mitch don't want an incentive based contract? Maybe ethics has nothing to do with what is happening and the 'moral' of the story is that if you don't know the full story, you shouldn't make judgements either way?

Cross came in and was fantastic in our young midfield and actually took some load of Nathan Jones. You like him, yeah? Vince did the same and offered consistency and confidence in the midfield. Tyson was outstanding and joined the other two in great finishes in the Bluey. And as for that trade - if Salem is a 'fringe player' then so is Kelly and Gardiner. Time will tell on that deal. Normally I would be at the front with you saying 'that's the rules' but the AFL makes this up as they go. It's all PR and internal politics amongst the power clubs. Swann is trying to pressure the AFL to free jazz us down to Pick 19 and I hope no one is listening at AFL House. I am confident that we will get Pick 3 but only because of the Clark situation being an absolute embarrassment to the health of the competition that this is the easiest way to get us a 'PP' of sorts.

thedeeman - you will think back to your thoughts in this thread in a few years time and shake your head, or at least for your sake I hope you do. Dunn is just being a good friend, you are not his employer, he is not in a position to reveal what Mitch and the club should only reveal, and the situation would still be horrendous if you knew 'the whole truth' that everyone loves banging on about. Clark wants out, the club seems utterly ambivalent about it - they moved on ages ago. Unlike us, they have to deal with the reality of a crocked forward wanting to move whereas we are still stuck howling at the moon over what should have been when Neeld hijacked a Fremantle trade. It's over - his issues remain his issues and we can move on.
