  1. We need to somehow increase Jamar's trade/market value. No doubt clubs such as Carlton and Collingwood will be fishing around for a ruckman at the end of the year. Trade Jamar for a second/third rounder or an established player, elevate Neaves (hopefully he's good enough), and draft and rookie two ruckman.
  2. Hey I reckon its a great place, as long as you're in the right room When you're out on the town with serial pests in Lawrence and Gehrig, you know the nights going to turn ugly at some stage.
  3. I believe he will be undertaking a pHD in Science or IT. But seriously how funny was it when the cameras focused on all our injured players. Bruce, Neitz and Green looked absolutley focussed on the game and smiling after an MFC goal. Meanwhile TJ looked bored out of his mind, yawning, checking his mobile for race results....funny stuff!
  4. Although his form has been disappointing this year, he has actually played some ripping matches this year. The round 7 Bulldogs game was the best of his career where he picked up about 28 touches and 3 goals. Seems to be playing 1 good game, 1 bad game, 1 good game etc. As someone mentioned here, he may have been distracted by his brother's serious injury. His head needs to be clear for him to play a decent match. Houlihan was excellent on him last week.
  5. If the Carlton runner rushed out to Andrew Walker in the last quarter and told him to miss a crucial goal with 8 mins left, then I can confidently assume Carlton were tanking. Also, if Carlton were tanking, there was no way they would've risked Andrew Walker with his suspect shoulder. By playing a suspect Walker (who the Blues highly rate), it was a desperate act to counteract the loss of key personal in Fev, Stevens and Whitnall. I'd like to think Carlton were playing to win. If they weren't then we may as well forget about the result on Sunday and bemoan another wasted week.
  6. Unfortunetly thats the same old story with CJ.
  7. Seriously does this guy ever play a bad game. I really now appreciate his efforts week in week out and is pretty much our highest disposal getter - probably because nobody cares to tag him. Will win back-to-back B&F's because he deserves it and is injury free (touch-wood)
  8. I agree. CJ's not up to it. The last quarter summed it up when he had 30 minutes to pick up the ball on the members wing at a crucial time in the last quarter, but couldn't control it, over-ran the ball and a Carlton player cleared the ball out. I'm all for playing him for 3 or 4 games in a row, but he should be make way for Bell, TJ, Bruce, Green etc...when they start coming back. Fairly sure he'll be delisted or traded to WCE/Freo for a 4th rounder at very best. Meanwhile I think people are being harsh on Ward. Overall I think he's been solid this year and he's done some good shut down jobs on the likes of Leon Davis and particularly Eddie Betts yesterday. Been an excellent replacement for Whelan. Has also kicked some wonderful goals in the last 2 weeks. Like Bizell, should be granted a 1 year extension as they are solid depth at worst.
  9. Go for your mighty Dees to win! Can't hack losing to Carlton 3 times in a row. I'm sure Carlton will sneak a win later in the year, in the event we beat them today. After all they have us in round 22 in the 'Ultimate Tank' match
  10. I've noticed a distinct lack of discussion about the Carlton match on Sunday (compared to other weeks). -Is everybody over this season? -Does anybody care if we lose this Sunday? -Do people actually want us to lose to get the best draft picks possible? -Will you be upset if we lose? -Are you going? -Crowd? ------------------ -No I'm not over this season -Yes I do care if we lose this Sunday (still haven't got any closure from last years losses that cost us top 4) -No I don't want us to lose for draft picks as the NO 1 pick isn't guranteed to be the best -Yes as its probably our last chance of getting the 4 points for 2007. -Ken Oath I'm going -29,423
  11. I reluctantly thought that last year and after this years NAB Cup. Then I changed my mind after round 5 V Sydney when I stramped his papers. Three or four below par performances from CJ, when we were crying out for contributions in an injury riddled start to the season.
  12. RE - Chris Johnson Interesting that as soon as Daniher leaves, Riley has no hesitation in bringing CJ into the starting 18. He must perform this week or it will be effectively be the end of his AFL career. IMO CJ has been a major disapointment this year. Others would argue that he never got the opportunity, but how could you seriously play him on his early season form?
  13. Even if we win this weekend, I'm fairly confident Melbourne will still qualify for that priority pick 18/19 - as I don't believe we'll win more than 4 games. Infact apart from Carlton in round 22, I don't think there is a team possible to beat. Maybe the Lions but thats in QLD. My point is that every player, coaching staff, member and supporter deserves a little bit of happiness (ie -win) after two absolutley shattering weeks. Just one little win to keep us up for a little while. A loss this week would burn me up as it may be the last opportunity to sing the song this year. However the more I think about it, the more I think we don't have much of a chance this week without TJ, Neitz, Bell and Green out.
  14. I'm really struggling with this concept. I'm over losing. I'm over being the laughing stock of the AFL. I just want to enjoy a relaxing Sunday Night with the knowlege that we've got the 4 points. I know everyone wants the much vaunted number 1 pick, but who's to say the number 1 pick will be the best (Kruzer). EG - Selwood (6?) looks more impressive than Gibbs (1) Dale Thomas (2) has as much tools to work with as Marc Murphy (1)
  15. Hope the scumbag gets a week. Can't believe how lucky Essendon have been this year.
  16. When the hell did TJ get injured. I thought he ran the game out fine.
  17. I'd imagine Green and a third round draft pick for Fev and their 4th round draft pick. Seem fair?
  18. I hope people aren't being serious about hoping to lose I've had a gutfull of losing every week. I can't stand losing , and I hope we pump the Blues this week. Get some revenge on those punks from last year.
  19. Exactly! Blaming the umpires is a weak cop-out. I'm blaming our players who can't protect leads. Daniel Motlop Brad Johnson Andrew Swallow Scott Lucas also haven't helped matters.
  20. I thought that was there. Fletcher took Newton out of the contest just before the ball went over for a behind. But its pretty predictable for everyone to blame the umps - YET AGAIN - after a loss. I'm with OCCO here. Just blame our players who simply cant' protect close games.
