Was our best player in the first 4 weeks this year. Yet another MFC players who missed countless games in 2007. Imagine if we have a good run with injury next year
-
I'd take him. Screw the under 23 policy. He's costing us nothing and he is a class act. But no, the recruting department will probably take a punt in the PSD on a 20 year old with 3 games experience in SANFL reserves and hope for a miracle.

Was impressive against us

Solution: Get off the [censored] the night before a game

Nice

I was disgusted with our draw last year. We seemed to have a mortgage on Sunday games and only 1 Saturday afternoon game.
-
Be nice if we get 10 home games in VIC, now that our Brisbane home game has been cancelled. Wouldn't mine playing the Lions at the G'. Sure to be quite spicy. Expecting the draw to be released within 2 weeks. Probable Round 1: Thu (n) Port V Geelong AAMI THU/FRI Carlton V Richmond MCG Sat Collingwood V Fremantle MCG Sat (n) St Kilda V Sydney TD West Coast V Brsbane S Sun WB V Adelaide TD Hawthorn V Melbourne MCG (Twilight) Mon Kangaroos V Essendon TD

THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2007: DAY THREE
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hopefully the Dees are showing a bit of backbone and demanding something more than pick 14. Or maybe the Dees are playing a trick on Trapper and were never getting rid of him in the first place -
I hope you're right Hards! And yes I can see the upside of the trade, no worries there. I just have vivid memories of round 19 - Melbourne V Western Bulldogs at the Dome this year. We'd played like crap for 4 weeks and got belted by the Lions, Roos, Port and Sydney...the worst 4 weeks in years, our midfield a shambles. TJ missed all those games. Then all of a sudden he returns for the Dogs game and automatically makes a massive difference with a bit of silk and class through the midfield. Sure he didn't get 30 touches, but made sure he used every one of them to prefection. I'm concerned now that we don't have any polished outside midfielders if TJ goes. Best case scenario IMO is that the deal falls at the last hurdle, TJ gets a good kick up the backside and has a solid and injury free 2008 and contributes valuably to many more wins than 2007. I don't subscribe to the theory of "good luck to him if he plays well at the Lions". I want him contributing at Melbourne not Brisbane.

Nar unfortuently most people around here are gamblers. Speculative picks are more of a priority than capable best and fairest winners and top 4 brownlow finishers.

Just reading the AFC board on Bigfooty. Their stoked with the trade as they reckon Meeson is bad rubbish. "Waste of a first round pick" "Soft c..k" "Runs to the wrong places" "Immature" "Good runner, crap footballer" "2 games in 3 years" Sour grapes or reality?
-
Lets hope so!!!! I guess I'm not one for rebuilding. Come trade week, I look forward to picking up players rather than draft picks. But I guess we may be in for a couple of cold years if this is the direction were heading towards ie - No more Byron Picketts.
-
Sauce? Good result if true.

Disgraceful trade, if we just settle for pick 14. We're losing our silkiest and classiest player for a speculative draft pick. I'd demand a player in the package. I hope all you guys enjoy Trapper dominate games for Brisbane and help them get in the finals, while marvelling at our 18 year old kid play his 22 games of Surburban Footy because CAC chose another Isaac Weetra or a Heath Neville.

Saints interested in Chris Johnson
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
I propose this trade. Chris Johnson and fourth round draft pick for St Kilda's second round draft pick. That way we'll get about pick 28?? which will satisfy Adelaide's requirements in the Meeson trade. Currently Adelaide want our second round pick (too high says Melb) while we are only prepared to offer 3rd round pick (too low says Adel) -

Don't we go through this every year with CJ. He had an opportunity to progress this year, but spent half of it in the magoos. Not AFL standard. -
I went to about 8 Richmond games last year and I was impressed with Pettifer. He always bobbed up for 2 or 3 goals, and is an excellent lead. But I've heard on countless occassions that he's a tool. Ferg and pick 3 for Pettifer and pick 4.

Johnstone and Carroll on the market
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope everyone (who hopes Trapper leaves) will enjoy TJ carving it up at another club's midfield and probably win a B&F next year - in exchange for pick 18 who will probably play about 6 games in 3 years. -
TRAVIS JOHNSTONE - WHY WHY WHY???

I hope everyone enjoys Trapper ripping it up in someone else's midfield next year. -

Dean Bailey- right or wrong decision
Bring-Back-Powell replied to gothedemons's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ask me after the first NAB Cup game. If we're still doing stupid handballs to players who are under pressure and generally [censored] farting around like 1998-2007, then I'd say its the wrong decision. -
Yeah I knew it would come back to haunt us. But it was fun on the night, rocking up to a game of footy knowing you'd won the game before it started.
-
Your right QueenC. Whitnall's 5 behinds in the first quarter and the Carlton cheersquad waving their flags after every MFC goal was just pure coincedence
-
Apologies to Mr Yze_Magic

C'mon DD, turn it up mate. Carlton didn't tank, we were just the superior team on the day
