  1. The only risk of finishing 3rd and playing Port away is the possibility of facing Brisbane at the GABBA in the prelim if we lose week 1 and Brisbane beat Collingwood at the G week 1. That would be the major booby prize in terms of travelling, which we've been average in this year.
  2. If we play Port in week 1 at AO, how many tickets will be allocated to MFC members? And I suspect it would be on a Saturday twilight or night as I would imagine that the other 3 finals would be at the MCG (due to a lack of interstate teams featuring in the top 6) and would need to be Thu night, Fri night and Saturday.
  3. North are utterly hopeless.
  4. Even in 2020 they fixtured us down there before COVID ruined the original fixture.
  5. Not surprised. He was either turning it over or dropping the most basic of marks. A seriously frustrating player for a guy of his talents.
  6. So what does pick 4 become after NGAโ€™s, academy picks and father and sons?
  7. Perfect selection. Particularly with a tallish fwd line of Tex, Tilthorpe and Fogarty. Tomlinson gels well with May and Lever and weโ€™re undefeated when those 3 play together in the same side round 1 2021. More than happy with Smith as sub. If Chandler has a good praccy game then Iโ€™d consider him for Spargo, whoโ€™s simply not having a good season.
  8. Yep, thanks for correcting that. Not sure where I gave that extra Collingwood win. They play Port and Brisbane to come.
  9. Yes correct. One of our 3 wins that year.
  10. A couple of 1 point wins come to mind. 2020 vs Carlton at Marvel. 2008 v Brisbane at MCG
  11. Hope we can get him a flag for 7 years of service for the club as it might be his final year Won us a game against Carlton last year and again tonight.
  12. The big boys against the big boys: Port 2-1 Collingwood 2-2 Brisbane 2-2 Melbourne 2-2 Weโ€™re in this thing ladies and gents!
  13. The Tab opened Brisbane up at $2.15 about 10 days ago.
  14. How'd you pull up today mate ๐Ÿฅด
  15. Agreed. A gut punching Sunday 6pm loss is about as mediocre as it gets in the weekly cycle of a footy tragic...
  16. 1) We got 37K to last years mid season Thursday night game between the two sides. Anything under 40K for a Friday night game would be disappointing. 2) Port have a number of outs this week, turning a probable win into a conceivable loss to Carlton. That might be the loss that costs them top spot given they have an inferior percentage to Collingwood.
  17. The good news is that Kozzie could not have possibly played a worse career game than last week, so that can only be a positive in terms of our scoring avenues.
  18. Yeah I get where youโ€™re coming from. I think this thread went off the rails when people wanted the Bulldogs to beat Freo two weeks ago despite Bulldogs being in direct competition with Melbourne for a top 4 spot at the time. Luckily itโ€™s all seemed to be working out as the Dogs are falling off the pace and Freo find themselves in the bottom 4!
  19. Wow! You flew up to Sydney just to watch Freo lose a spot on the ladder. I admire your dedication๐Ÿ‘
  20. Reluctantly Iโ€™d have to say Essendon too. I feel as though Geelong are making a genuine charge for top 4 due to their many games at GMHBA, albeit they have Brisbane and Collingwood away. A loss here would snuff that out. Where as if Essendon somehow make the top 4 I donโ€™t see them as any threat of doing anything nor are they probably ready to do anything. (hopefully we go 5-2 to finish the season and the result will be academic)
  21. Yes a lot of Melbourne supporters allergies to Essendon started around September 2000.
  22. Most of the games speak for themselves in terms of how it benefits us. I'm not sure if it's better if Geelong or Essendon win? A Geelong loss would bid farewell to their top 4 chances which is great, but an Essendon win means that they're well and truly in the hunt for a top 4 spot.
  23. All but certain he isn't playing.
  24. Someone on their Bigfooty forum reckons Dunkley is far more important to Brisbane than Oliver is to Melbourne. Whilst I think itโ€™s a nonsense call, I hope it rings true tomorrow night assuming Dunkley misses.
