I am still not sold on Thursday night footy but apparently my better half likes the idea of Melbourne playing on Thursday nights because if we lose she won’t have to put up with me for the better part of a day. I hope we bring pressure, pressure and more pressure and kick straight.

I bet we don’t play this version of West Coast.

I know he’s bloody old and will probably sign again at Fremantle but bloody hell David Mundy is a good player and I would be more than happy to get him even for just a year.

It’s interesting about Rutten, Essendon have been getting so much good publicity and some of it deserved but Carlton could be only percentage behind them tonight but are doing a full scale review and Teague could be sacked.

Well we certainly have a lot to work on. Our pressure, our work rate, our decision making and our goal kicking all need major improvement. People will bang on about BB not being in the side and I get that but if we have composure and take our opportunities in the last quarter we win without him again. Oliver since the Collingwood game looks to be playing injured to me. The competition is as even as I can ever remember, take out the Kangaroos and literally every other team can beat anyone on their day. The Giants still have a hell of a lot of gun players and could easily play finals and losing to them is not the end of the world. The thing that worries me is still our soft underbelly, our pressure was bloody average for three quarters and ok for one and we still nearly won. There should be no excuses for pressure, yes of course we can’t win every game but I would certainly like to see more four quarter performances. We have a massive fight on our hands to finish top four now, I really hope we have improved enough to take on the challenge.

Fair enough, I don’t have kids to worry about so it feels a bit late but good to hear it suits some people.

Can someone please give me a good reason why Friday night games start at 7.50?

I am going to take a wild guess that Jack Riewoldt was an Essendon supporter growing up, it’s the only explanation I can find why he sooks so much. Seriously there was an Essendon supporter on SEN today still complaining about the umpiring on the weekend.

He’s a real piece of work Riewoldt, hope he plays for another ten years though so we don’t have to listen to him be a special comments person on Fox.

Yes true, which just makes it even more interesting how any footy frenzy will work this year.

It’s going to be very interesting how this season unfolds in a scheduling scenario. Talks of another footy frenzy to potentially cut the need for hubs, does that mean game time gets cut back again and will we potentially have a stop start season to keep players happy. Anyway good luck to the AFL dealing with all the government’s and players to make it work, it’s not going to be easy.

It really is a strange feeling winning so often yet on reflection of so many games thinking we really haven’t played that well. I guess that’s what good teams with good defensive structures do, I really hope we can sort our forward line cohesion though. Another challenge next week and it’s hard to see that being anything but a grind also.

I still wouldn’t pick him, not the type of player who can come into a team without match practice for me.
